Yeah, Billick is a really good color commentator. I liked his insight during the Colts-Packers game.

I don't know if its still on, but I liked his "Coach's show" on NFL Network. He's probably the best color commentator on Fox.

Yeah those were awful. I've been dreading this game and the other one they're wearing them since I first saw pictures/ the annoucement. Used for one season (1934, I think). Sam Rosen was so terrible of an announcer today that when they first showed the Steelers running out of the tunnel he called them the Pittsburgh Pirates. Ugly uniforms, bad announcing (Brian Billick deserves better).
Haha so true. Although today Dick Stockton gave us this gem: "The hurry up helps them get up the field in a hurry"

Dick Stockton was good. Twenty years ago. But he used to be good.

I normally don't have a problem with him, but that gem was just too good.

I was watching the Bears game i think it was. Whichever game Dick Stocton was calling and Jennifer Hale was sideline reporting. Anyways, Hale is reporting on a tidbit about the field being slippery. She ended the report with " ...really slippery...Dick ".

I blushed. It wasnt " Back to you Dick ". It was " really slippery..Dick ".

    High Fives!

I remember he used to be paired with Tony Siragusa and Daryl "Moose" Johnston. One time when Siragusa was throwing it back to them he said "Back to you Moose Dick" no pause between the names at all. Just said Moose Dick. Was hilarious. They broke that pairing up the next season

Stocton actually went on after she said slippery Dick and he was talking about something, i forget, but I was laughing because it almost seemed like they were fully aware of the **** they were saying. It was totaly sexual inuendo if that's what you call it. It was pretty damn funny. I hope someone caught it and put it on youtube.

The amount of " Slippery Dick Stockton " jokes that were told for the rest of the day, remains too many to be counted. The more alcohol, the more Slippery Dick Stockton jokes. I cant wait for next week.

I'm not ready to put the Texans into the SB like many people seem to be. I would like NE, Pitt, and even Denver's chances at knocking them out. I don't know about Baltimore as I think they lose a lot of their swagger with Lewis out. That performance by Denver last night was impressive. I know the Saints have a poor record, but they are still loaded on offense. Denver's D completely shut them down. And as ChiJ mentioned in the other thread, Denver had a potent mix of passing and running.

Also, what about the coaching job that Philbin is doing in Miami? It's kind of similar to what's going on here. I enjoyed seeing them stomp on the Jets yesterday.

OT: The Jets need to announce that Tim Tebow is the new starter.

Then this hurricane Sandy would dissipate just like THAT.

This league is bizarre. The Pats shredded the Denver D for over 251 yards RUSHING and 223 yards passing, making their D seem like hot butter. Then a week ago the Jets clogged up everything the Pats tried to do, then yesterday the Pats O was awesome again and the Broncos D looked great.

    The AFC is wide open.

Home field is part of that difference. Also, Manning and that offense is getting better every game and that is going to keep happening.

    That's downright John Madden-esque!
There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.

All it is missing is a "BOOM!" and some undecipherable scribbling on the telestrator.

Fisher: When will you call off the dogs, Bill? How much is enough?
Belichick: The game lasts 60 minutes, Jeff. It is what it is.

Man, Doug Martin is really good.

The Browns really screwed up by taking Richardson and Weeden over Tannehill and Martin, IMO.

    25 rushes, 251 yards, 4 touchdowns (45, 67, 70, and 1 yards).

Three straight 3-and-outs for Eli in the fourth quarter. That was fun!

In the Giant's defense of being overrated, they've played a pretty weak schedule so far this season, except for their manhandling of the 49ers. Who else have they played on the way to their inflated record?

Aside from the Niners, they really haven't beat anyone that good. Their wins are against Tampa, Carolina, Cleveland, San Francisco, Washington, and Dallas.

Big win for Pitt. That's the type of win that can really build some momentum.

Exactly. They're the defending SB champions. They've got a lot of solid players on defense (but I'm not sure their defensive scheme is particuarly good... they seem to make a lot of great one-on-one plays on defense when *and only when* they happen to already be in the right position.) And they'll win that division (as they should, in spite of its popularity/ ratings it is not a very good division) and make some noise in the playoffs. But they are overhyped.

I like the fact that we're finally starting to run the ball with authority again, and DeCastro should be back soon and that will help too. I wouldn't have put this down as "W" beforehand, but I wouldn't have put a game in Oakland as an "L" either, so this basically neutralizes one of the two bad road losses we had out of the gate.

It's weird, the more things change the more they stay the same. Who are the 3 big names in the AFC right now other than Houston? New England, Pitt, and Indy. Just like every other November for the past decade.

The Giants just never seem to have that year where they put it all together and have a truly dominating regular season.
