Just horrible tonight. I thought the And 1 in our favor would be easily the worst call of the night. Then the foul on Sheehey happened...
The "no clear view" of Nix's nut tap was worse than all of them. That view wasn't clear. It was crystal.

I'm Oladipo's biggest fan. I've been pimping him since November. You don't give up on PG to get him. You just don't.
Right, the whole point is to try and pair a young talent like Oladipo WITH Paul. Honestly, our best hope is that Danny comes back over the next couple months and shows he is still an 18PPG scorer then maybe you can start thinking about scenarios where you move up.

I agree with Ken Pomeroy that it wasn't that bad of a no-call. It was a revenge hit, but it wasn't blatant or with a lot of force. Izzo was right to sit him to try to prevent escalation. Nothing was as bad as that 3 point foul. I hate those stupid "initiate contact and get the foul call" shots that people try.

So a hit in the nuts is okay if you don't do it blantantly and if it's not with a lot of force?

Any time a player purposefully hits another player in the junk, it should at the very least be a technical. I would argue it should be an automatic ejection. I think it's on the same exact level as throwing a punch. There's absolutely no defending it, what-so-ever.

And I'm all for phsyical play. There's just certain lines that you do not cross, and that's one.

Dakich just posted a video that maybe shows that Zeller pulled Nix's arm into him? I don't know it's hard to tell.

Never been an IU fan, and the bandwagoners are making me become anti-IU, but I don't see Zeller pulling his arm into his nuts.

Nix flicks his wrist IMHO. I don't think you can really judge whether or not he pulled his arm in, just beause he has his hand on his elbow. Seems like he's ready to lock arms before he gets position, which is quite common.

I don't know anything about Nix, but I've always like Izzo.

    I don't know. Maybe.

Haha it actually really does look like he did. I just can't imagine any sane human being doing this, but I guess I don't know Zeller either.

So many bad calls, and some each way frankly, but the one that got my goat was Nix in the post in the last minute absolutely clearly and blatantly changed his pivot foot. I had to later explain to the wife and kids what a pivot foot is, why it's important, and why I had been about to throw something or kick the dog. That got me more that the foul on the 3-pointer or the nuts no-call. It was not a judgement call but rather 100% obvious.

If refs called Derrick Nix for every violation he makes via travels or moving screens the kid wouldn't be at Michigan State. His entire career is based on it. He is a maddening player to watch because he gets away with murder and I don't understand why. Call it the Izzo effect, he has a way to take these overweight dudes and turn them into hidden violation savants.

A slight tug on somebody's arm at the elbow doesn't magically make the wrist flip and smack you in the nuts, it just doesn't

I am not sure about this without seeing the replay, but do you remember the key play at the MSU end where someone swatted the ball off the shot clock?

At the time I was convinced it was Nix and not an IU player, but they never showed a replay and apparently never reviewed it in the ensuing timeout.

I think the whole idea that he hit himself in the nuts is ridiculous. No way. Don't buy it.

If he did, screw Oladipo, Zeller is the NPOY.

I really, really want it to be true so badly, because it would be absurdly hysterical.

But nobody wants to win a game in February that badly. Nobody.

MSU's play by play guy called it a pro move lol

On the Nix walk no-call, Izzo saw it and started screaming for the time out immediately, as if him calling a TO would distract the refs from noticing what they had to have seen- that a guy with ball in the post picked up his dribble and then changed his pivot foot to free himself. Just bizarre. The distraction timeout worked, though.

I've heard people (most of them hate IU) saying Zeller orchestrated this move because he knew Nix would retaliate and he could play it off the officials as just that. The "revenge move" stemmed from the play where Zeller posted up on Nix and apparently knee-ed him in the groin on his way up.

It just seems difficult to conceive how Zeller would be thinking about all of that and actually go through with it in the final minutes of the biggest game of the season.

Maybe I'm naive but it looked to me like Zeller clearly pulled his arm though I don't think there was intent on either his or Nix's end to wind up with Cody taking a shot to the dick. I think it was just an unfortunate accident. I think TV Ted got that one right.

You are becoming anti-IU because people completely unconnected to the university are cheering for them? Did you hate Butler during their Final Four runs? How about appreciating the success of an instate team?

The IU women's BB team beat Purdue tonight, a nice win in an otherwise bad season. Of course IU only won 6 games last season and have already won 11 this year so at least there has been some improvement.

Curt Miller will turn the program around just like Crean did with men's basketball and Kevin Wilson is doing with football.

People are going to be shocked at how good the IU women's basketball team will be in a few years. I'm not surprised at their struggles this season; to say Coach Miller inherited a bare cupboard would be an understatement (not quite what Crean walked into, but not far off).

I can't wait to watch Tyra Buss when she arrives in 2014. She's on pace to become the all-time leading scorer in Illinois high school history. IU also got a commitment from the top Indiana player from that class. Much better days are on the horizon for the IU women's basketball program.
