Thread: Indiana University Athletics Thread 2012-2013

Purdue did give up in WLaffy, surprisingly.

I don't know them well enough to gauge whether they can respond to the butt-kicking that Painter must be giving them, if they are reviewing that tape. If they have any pride, it won't be as big a blowout as 37 points. The talent disparity is pretty big, but it isn't like IU vs. Central Connecticut. Any win is a good win.
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

I won't. I'll be disappointed with a loss, happy with anything else. Every time we start getting cocky and feeling good about ourselves we **** the bed against an inferior opponent.
I'm not being cocky and even if I was, what impact would it have AT ALL on the game? The players and coaches determine the outcome of the game, not some anonymous posters on a message board.

I specifically stated that this game could be more competitive since it is a rivalry game but that I hoped IU would blow them out today. If IU were to lose that would be a glaring red flag for their national title aspirations. IU has played very well against Purdue the last two seasons and I expect that to continue today.

Did I say you specifically? No. I said, "we," as in the collective IU fan base. Does it have any direct impact on the game? Of course not. I'm just pointing out that every time we, the fans, have gotten cocky, the team has probably felt the same way (certainly in the Illinois game they did) and they have blown a game against an inferior opponent.

Dakich just said Crean thinks Hollowell can be a pro. Down the road, I think he could be. It's going to take him at least three years of development and hard work, but I don't see any reason why he couldn't be an NBA small forward someday.

I'm not sure even they know. Painter has called a ton of timeouts already.

Okay, I was greatly humored by the shoutout to Village Deli by Dakich. I love that place. At this point, we might be hearing a more Dakich stories than basketball analysis today.

After not calling anything in the first half, the refs are calling everything in the second half. And they should have called more in the first half. Consistency, please.

ESPN just took IU/Purdue away from viewers in Indiana. Asses.

Also, it's blacked out on ESPN3/WatchESPN, so when I say took it away, I mean they took it away. Bring back WTTV/Raycom Sports broadcasts. I'll even listen to Ted Kitchel do games again.

That was a weird chant. Ball State's better? Did I hear that right?

    EDIT: Dackich just confirmed it.

Perea has insanely long arms. His hands are horrible and his basketball IQ is highly questionable. He has potential, but it's really going to take time with him.

For about the fifth time this season, we have the biggest game of the year on deck. Obviously winning at Breslin is something Indiana doesn't do, but I think Crean will use that as motivation heading into Tuesday. The rest of the schedule is pretty intense--the only game that could be construed as a breather would be at home against Iowa. Other than that--at Michigan State, home against Ohio State, at Minnesota, at Michigan. We seem to be firing on all cylinders, but there are no more easy games. **** gets real now.

Perea should at least be a contributor next year. A guy to come off the bench. Losing out on playing time early in the year really hurt him.

Fischer might be tasked with starting though if Zeller leaves though.

Was this post made in seriousness because he was arguably our best defender all day. He did a fantastic job fronting the post.
