Not a huge blow, but a bummer nonetheless.
Ehh, he misses what 2 actually challenging games. UNC and either Georgetown or UCLA. If anything this could help the team. The younger guys get even more playing time to help the depth comes tournament time.

I would still bet we will be undefeated come new years

I was thinking more for Elston than the team's fortunes.

    Exactly.

Unrelated, as I've been on the road a bit and behind on some of these things... what's the outlook for Creek this season, assuming he stays healthy for long enough to actually be seen in a meaningful game? With the new guys, and with continued improvement (I expect) from Sheehey and Oladipo, does he become the forgotten man?
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

True it is a bummer for elston. Maybe Cody and Yogi should get him a ring to make him feel better

Hed get a ring even if he was out the entire year. But lets be honest here, if the team wins it all this year Cody and Yogi will both be 100x more responsible for it than Elston

Yeah, okay, who cares? The kid is a part of the team and part of a senior class who has resided over the resurgence of IU basketball. So what if he would not be an integral cog in a title winning team--he deserves a ring every bit as much as Cody or Yogi would.

No offense but you need to go back and read what I wrote. Because I never once said he didn't deserve one. In fact I never once said anything close to that.

I just happened to catch Dakich talking about Creek earlier this week. The word he used to describe him was "stiff". Still wasn't moving around well apparently. It didn't sound like he expected much at all out of him.

    Really too bad.

You didn't say it, but that's the way it came across. "Who cares, he isn't a big part of the team, so whatever." Maybe you didn't mean it that way, but it came across in such a manner.

According to Insidethehall and supported by the way they are acting Crean is going to try and get 6 recruits for this class. It could be that Crean is expecting 3 people to jump early to the NBA.

Vonleh, Anya and Williams seem to be the viable options at this point.

Williams and Anya might be the important pieces, just because of Position. I haven't heard any noise about Hanner leaving early. So we will still have a PF with experience.

If we do lose 3 guys early, we better hope to god that one of them isn't yogi.

I suppose its also possible Crean expects some of the Commits to go elsewhere if somebody playing their position comes here. IDK, so much is behind the scene.

That's not even a question. Anya all day. Now say we can only get one of Anya or Vonleh. That is more of a toss up. We really need Anya's post skill if we lose Cody, but Vonleh has that Durant/Beasley potential.

Something to note hes looking like a one and done and if Kentucky gets Wiggins, I don't really see the advantage of having a one and done in 2013. It might be better to build for the future.

Because Kentucky will surely win it all in 2013?

As someone who doesn't follow recruiting, is this Wiggins dude LeBron 2.0 or something?

Already has four 5 Star Recruits. Wiggins is pretty amazing. Hes one of those guys who could start in the NBA right out of High School probably.

Not saying they will for sure win it all. But you would have to say they are by far the favorite. And perhaps it would be better to get the guy that will be a sophomore with experience in 2014. Who will still be a good player in 2013, rather than the guy that will be better in 2013 but will be gone in 2014

Vonleh has that kind of potential as well. You absolutely try and get a guy like Vonleh no matter what if he is interested, especially since he seems like a good kid. Troy Williams is a fine player but if he is the only guy out of the Vonleh, Anya, Williams group of interest we get, he will be kind of a let down compared to the other two.

I know it's been expected for a while now, but officially being ranked #1 is so surreal. It's been a loooooooooong time since we've been considered the best team in the country.

Yes. And it's looking more and more like he's going to wind up at Florida State, it's a pretty interesting story. Interesting in the sense that most sane people would shake their head at that description, but still.

Thank god I hope he does end up there. Last thing I want is Kentucky to win another title with Calipari.

I hope we get all three. But if we can only get two I want Williams and vonleh.

    I predict:
    1. 3 seniors graduate
    2. Creek pays his way or is done next year and gets a job with his degree or plays overseas. He has a kid on the way.
    3. Zeller and either will or victor go pro.
    4. Austin transfers to get more pt.

That leaves room for the four committed already and Williams, Anya, and vonleh.
