Inside the Hall has retweeted a lot of great images and scenes from outside Assembly Hall today. What support from the fans and community. I only wish I was there. Oh well, I'll be in B-town all next weekend to take in some of the atmosphere.

They are 3 point underdogs and are currently winning by 9. I wish they struggled like this more often.

I said Coffman would throw a pick before the last series even started.

Did not like the play calling on the series before where we were 3 and out, but you could already see Coffman falling apart. That's not even counting the pick six first half, which was tipped, but it still appeared the receiver was well covered. In other words, another ball that should never have been thrown.

That game alone might be enough to scare off these four star decommits. Get them excited with the last two weeks, then show what losers you are by completely underwhelming against a totally beatable opponent.

A couple weeks ago I thought some individual players on the D were looking good, but this has to be the worst performance yet. Oh yeah, and let's sell out on 3rd down and leave the guy in the end zone wide open.

As opposed to using the TOs how he did, Wilson would have been wiser to just tell the D to let them score once they got to the ten. At least then you've got time and time outs left.

All in all our D did fine. They only gave up 24 points. The real problem is our offense that disappears in the second half with Coffman

How so? Better defense? Better development of the upperclassmen?

Defense is hard to gauge from the scrimmage.

Here were some key whoa points:

1.) Yogi's passing: I knew it was good, but I didn't know it was this good. He and Cody look like they just finished playing AAU ball together yesterday. Every time Cody popped open Yogi found him.

2.) Oladipo nailed a drop back spot up three.

3.) Hulls was every bit as good as Yogi offensively but just in different ways.

4.) Watford showed some post moves I'm not sure he had last year.

5.) Jurkin is further along than I anticipate defensively. He couldn't stop Cody, but who can? However he did blog Hollowell and just generally did a good job around the hoop.

6.) Cody. Cody. Cody. Cody. I don't know how to put it. What highlight should I talk about first the face up spin and finish with the left hand? Or maybe the coast to coast Lebron-esque step through dunk where Watford tried to get in his way and Cody just took one step to the middle of the lane and was around him and threw it down with one hand.

P.S. Hollowell was a boss tonight too. Lots of good post play and also showed a three point touch. I could see this team averaging 90 a game.

Yogi's passing is elite. People think I'm crazy when I say this, but Yogi has one-and-done talent, even with his lack of ideal NBA size. That kid is a table setter extraordinaire. A weak point guard crop+a deep tournament run for IU...who knows. The kid is special though.

    Other scattered thoughts:
    a) I love Hulls. He is physically challenged but represents everything I have always loved about IU basketball: Basketball IQ, passion, great fundamentals, great shooting, and an appreciation for what being a Hoosier really means.
    b) Zeller is everything Hulls is...but without the physical limitations. I said last year he was the most fundamentally sound freshman I've ever seen--I think he will amaze as a sophomore. I expect him to be the top pick in next year's NBA draft.
    c) If there was a sixth man award in college basketball, Sheehey would hands down, without a shadow of a doubt be the favorite for it.
    d) I will be shocked if IU loses in Assembly Hall this year.

I will post something more tomorrow. But if this team is as deep and good as it appears they could probably go undefeated in a lesser league.

I think the IU record for assists in a season is right around 6 to 7 per game. I think Yogi will seriously challenge that mark that year. I could see him getting 8 a game. I fully expect a couple double digit dime game here against the scrubs in the first few weeks. The fact that so many of these guys have played AAU ball together really is showing up, they did not look like a team that just hit the court a week ago. Their chemistry was much better than that. Normally these HH scrimmages are cluster ****s, but this was legitimately good offense being played by both of the teams.

Also I have zero idea who starts this year, just absolutely none. After Yogi and Cody, I'm not sure from there. It's tough to imagine a scenario where Hulls and Watford don't start, but I suppose it's not impossible.

Zeller, Watford, Oladipo, Hulls, Ferrell. That's my call. Hulls always guards the opponent's worst offensive wing.

Looking at the scrimmage rosters, the first thing that comes to mind is that those teams would both be capable of winning games. Thats the scary thing, how many teams have that kind of depth. We are going to be able to just throw bodies at people.

Not to mention, out of this team, we have what 9 maybe even 10 legit starters.

Starting line up I would say has to be Ferrell, Hulls, Oladipo, Watford, and Zeller. Watford and Hulls I think have just earned the right to start. They came to IU in its time of greatest need. Besides its not who starts the game that matters as much as who finishes. Let the matchups determine that.

So excited about what I am hearing about this team. Its so odd to see so many.

Anybody realize that this team has 10 rotation players who were ranked in the top 150 at the time they came to IU. And out of those ten, six of them are juniors and seniors. Lots of talent with lots of experience. 1 of those remaining 4 is Zeller, I think he can overcome his lack of experience though. Just maybe lol.

I may be crazy but I think Hollowell has some one and done potential too. I think he will push for a starting spot.

I know somebody who wants to be John Calipari for Halloween. He was asking for suggestions. I told him if he goes to any parties, make sure they're at a neutral location and not somebody's house.
