I am really surprised Remy is transferring. I like him as a player and have heard nothing but good things about him as a person. I wish him all the best.

Lol, because Remy would have made us any better? and Troy Williams, Yogi Ferrell, Will Sheehey, Noah Vonleh, Hanner Mosquera-Perea, Jeremy Hollowell, Stanford Robinson and Luke Fischer team is not bad at all, still a top 25 team

    Never underestimated experince.

this team will be will be very young and lose a bit because of it.

Crean should have went after some Juco players imo

Thanks for being a good solider, Remy A. Will miss having your character on the team.

Certainly a loss of experience that could be a drawback. Also could mean a better player replacing him, which is an advantage.

Have to see how things go next season to know which influences more, but it's legit to worry about next year's lack of experience. Can Sheehey and Yogi fill the roles of Zeller and Oladipo? That's what they're going to have to do, and it's not a given they will.

If this team is bad next year it sure as hell won't be because Remy transferred. I would think losing four 1000 pt scorers would be the reason this team struggles next year.

And what great JUCO players were available? If you are going to reach to critcize the coach try to do better than this.

Abell averaged 4 ppg and struggled in conference play. I'll take talent and ability over experience.

It would have been nice to have his scholarship when Gary Harris was looking at us.

The scholarship situation didn't have anything to do with Harris going to MSU.

PG is now a very thin position though. Yogi needs to be durable.

You're right like Dakich said from day 1, the reason Gary went to east Lansing was because of Vic.

Jaren Sina has cut Alabama from his list and set a date to visit Indiana (April 24). The nutjobs over at Peegs are going apeshit over this, but I like it for two reasons: a) We desperately need ball handlers. If Yogi were to get injured, we would be royally ****ed. b) It's looking more and more like Creek won't be back with the team, so we will have a scholarship open up anyway.

That being said, it's hard to get too jazzed up about a team that could have 7 freshmen, unless they are of the Kentucky variety. The more I think about it, the more I think Remy's loss will hurt us more than we think. For us to be good next year, Yogi has to make the leap, Hollowell and Perea have to spend every waking moment of their lives in Cook Hall improving their games, and the four top 100 recruits have to live up to the hype. Tall order.

Remy Abell wasn't spectacular. He wasn't really even good. But you knew what you were going to get with him next year. He was going to be reliable ball handler. He was going to be a good perimeter defender. But perhaps most importantly, he was going to be a guy who has played for a couple of seasons. Will Sheehey, who in my opinion was the most disappointing IU player this season by a comfortable margin, is going to be the only upperclassman with any experience. Yogi is a good player and seems like he's capable of eventually being a better leader than player will still just be a sophomore. Outside of them, there really won't be anybody with significant experience. Noah Vonleh sounds like a one and done candidate and he's going to have to truly be an elite level one for IU to be as good as the early expectations seem. I've seen people raving about Luke Fischer. I've got a buddy who says he's Cody Zeller 2.0. It's hard for me to believe that but if that is case, they'll be fine.

I would think/hope that Jurkin would be the more likely to leave, given that he was on the floor for all of 7 minutes this season and some think his injuries might be chronic.

I think Sina is a fine pick up. He is supposed to be a very good passer so my hope is he can grow with what is a group of gifted incoming scorers and become the distributor off the bench. Our huge problem with Remy was that he is a very bad passer.

Hold the phone with Remy--apparently he is having second thoughts about leaving Indiana and his mom reportedly met with Crean to discuss it. This is fun!
