I agree with the point that Crean is substituting too much. While I think he needs the bench, I don't think he has to make wholesale substitutions. There probably should be 3 starters on the floor at least with many times 4. But again, I don't think Crean's going to ever win a chess match on the court.

He's a great recruiter and he inspires his players and gets them to buy into the system. With the horses I think he can win playing the way he wants them to play...and win it all... whether he can ever get that many horses I don't know...

No kidding... Almost let them have an open layup to win. Defense recovered just enough to increase degree of difficulty. And then how that putback didn't go in I'll never know.

Watford did a great job of saving the ball to Zeller. I hope that ball would've been going to Michigan had he not done that because that would've made it a smart play and an important play. I'm not sure who it was off of actually... But nice hustle for Watford.

Watford is an enigma. He's a very good FT shooter so that generally indicates he puts some time in and obviously cares about basketball... yet there are times you wonder if he really cares there is a game going on. Then he makes a nice hustle play. If the switch could ever get flipped he's got the physical tools to carve out an NBA career. ..It just doesn't seem to be in his DNA.

    Nice win for the Hoosiers.

I turned it off at 70-66. Saw it was 71-70, turned it back on just in time for Zeller giving IU the lead.

I about flat-lined on Burke's miss and the missed putback. You couldn't have scripted a better ending. Incredible finish.

I'm just glad the DVR is giving me a little bit of a transition time before I start cheering FOR the team wearing gold tonight.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Some good play, some luck, and a lot of heart result in a B1G championship. I'll take it. If I'm a Michigan fan I'm stuck between we choked and how did that last put-back tip not go down.

As it turned out in the 2nd half, Sheehey (after his streak of poor play) and Hollowell played big off the bench. It won't happen, but at this point I'd be fine with seeing Holowell and Watford splitting minutes about 50/50 unless and until Wat get's back to something resembling good play. Otherwise, might as well let Jeremy start building for a bigger role next season. Plus, he more consistently fights inside than Wat.

Personally, I disagree that Watford has the physical tools to be a legit pro prospect, unless we're talking international ball or D-league. He's both slow of foot and a very poor leaper. Yes, he can shoot it for 6-8ish, but that's all you get.
I'd rather die standing up than live on my knees.

I don't think he should be slow of foot.... Maybe he just is though. Maybe his size and build makes it seem he should be more athletically gifted than he is and I'm expecting too much. Maybe part of what I'm seeing that makes me think he's not giving 100% is he lacks quickness and maybe he's worked hard on it and it is what it is. Like I said, the fact that he's a good FT shooter indicates to me he's put some time in the gym.

The Watford shot against Kentucky was the coolest "moment" since the Smart shot, and it's not close.

The Watford shot immediately hit me after my post. I'd still contend that the Duke win is waaaaaaaaaaaay bigger than the Watford shot though.

The Watford shot will certainly be more famous in the long run than today's game, but today's victory is far more significant. A crazy gritty win to get our first outright Big 10 title in 20 years.

The symbolism of the Watford shot, the context of where the program had been makes it the easy choice for me. That shot immediately put us back on the map. As far as "moments" go, that one is really tough to beat. Duke win was a bigger win, the win today was a bigger win, but what that game meant to the fans, the program, the players, the coaches...you won't top it.

Can't really argue with that. The Watford shot marked the beginning of things going our way again, so to speak.

    Did anyone catch this?

Moments following Indiana’s stirring 72-71 comeback victory Sunday at the Crisler Center --- which gave IU the outright Big Ten title --- Hoosiers coach Tom Crean engaged in a dustup with Michigan assistant Jeff Meyer. The two shook hands, exchanged words, then exchanged words again.

Brian Snow from Scout tweeted that Michigan (i.e. Meyer) and IU had been in some intense recruiting battles the past year and there is some bad blood between the two programs as a result.

Then there is the fact that Meyer participated in the destruction of the IU program under Samscum and you have the makings of an unfriendly relationship.
