a very impressive win. probably the best road game played all season.
    almost everyone contributed.
not many bone-headed passes to complain about.

I told the guys I was watching the game with that Hammons had the lowest impact 30 point game I've ever seen.
He may have had some impact on Zeller's draft stock and the continuing questions on his ability to defend the 5 at the next level.

Anything that keeps Zeller and Victor around for another year is fine by me.

As for Hammonds... the other 11 coaches all know who he is now. I expect to see defensive gameplans focused on him going forward. He was hot offensively, but I don't recall (I could be wrong...) IU ever double-teaming him. If they fronted the post, he got some nice backdoor opportunities. His challenge will be responding to more defensive focus. Hammnons certainly has a better NBA-ready body than Cody has, at least for playing the "5".

Hopefully we beat them by at least 25-30 at Assembly Hall. How awesome would it be if we outscored Purdue by a combined 60 points in our two matchups?

Problem is there are even bigger questions about Zeller's ability to defend the 4 at the next level.

Then I think he should stay at IU as long as possible!

(I generally agree - offensively, he might be NBA-ready. Body-wise, and defending the post, not there yet...)

Not surprising at all. Yogi is an excellent defender, despite his size. Oladipo will check Hardaway and Hulls will be parked on the shooter, Stauskas.

Michigan presents some serious match-up problems.

Yogi sticks on Burke. OK. Then who does Jordy guard? Everyone else is 6'6".

As much as I hate the zone, we might need to use it quite a bit if we want Hulls to be an asset in this game.

Then again, Cody SHOULD clean up inside. I can't wait!

Honestly, we don't need the zone. I really, really wish we would put Hulls on the bench and play Sheehey more, but I don't suspect that will actually happen.

I think Hulls can guard Stauskas.

Stauskas was seem to be the only guy Jordy can conceivably guard man to man.

Lately, after the first 8 minutes or so, it seems Yogi and Jordy are not on the court much at the same time. If Yogi, is out I'd assume Victor or Remy has to go over to Burke.

It will be interesting how we guard on the perimeter and how they guard inside.

Michigan State presented far more matchup problems with their post depth. Shut down Michigan's guards and you win easily. They are a jump shooting team and Hardaway loves to chuck it from anywhere and everywhere.

yes they're G- oriented and perimeter oriented but two of those perimeter players are 6'6" and the other is maybe the best PG in the nation.

I have to agree. Mich is very talented, but we also match up with them pretty well. If Yogi and Vic do that voodoo they do so well we will be in good shape. We are a much better defensive team if we play our normal games, but that being said I still expect a war.

It is looking like it is about $600 a seat just to get lower level for tomorrow's game, can only imagine what you could see courtside for. Is this the biggest basketball game in/for the state of Indiana since the NBA finals in 2000?

    Hahahahaha. No.

Sorry to sound flippant, but it's a regular season game in the first week of February. I get that you guys are excited for your team this year, but come on.

Other than the Butler-Duke 2010 game what game would have come close to this hype in this state? It's the combination of being in state, being IU, and being #1 and #3. Sure I mean IU vs. Maryland in 2002 was hyped, but it wasn't in state. It was in Atlanta.

I am seeing people willing to buy row 32 tix for 600 bucks. Those would normally go for about 100 or so a seat tops.

Even though there is actually more at stake in this game, it will never go down as being as epic as last year's win over UK, even if we win.

Outside of Butler-Duke 2010 and IU-UK last year, I cant think of a bigger game. This is definitely top three I'd think.

You don't think this has more hype than IU-UK did leading up to it? I had to buy scalped tix to that game. Prices are much higher this year.
