Butler is a scrappy, well-coached team.

Zeller should have more than three rebounds.

Smith completely owned Zeller right there.

Smith has been the best big man on the court today.

How does Cody Zeller not have a single foul? This might sound silly, but I think it's a bad sign when a big man doesn't pick up a single foul in regulation.

Part of it is Smith really has had him on his heels about outplayed him today, the other part, well, the officiating has been really off for both sides.

Yeah, Smith definitely outplayed Zeller in regulation.

This isn't a flash in the pan for Butler regardless of the outcome today. Even if Stevens leaves, they're still going to be in the Atlantic 10 (much better than the Horizon League) or, it looks even more likely that they'll be incorporated into the Catholic non-football conference (Villanova, Georgetown, etc.). Butler is really already not an underdog anymore, and the talent they attract is probably only going to get better.

I know Butler is very good, scrappy, well-coached, etc, but a number 1 team should never lose a game against an un-ranked team on a neutral court in its home state where the crowd breakdown is about 65-35 their favor (according to someone I know who was there).

Look you can go down a Bevy of different games over history and find the exact same outcome, never disrespect a well-coached, determined, fundamentally sound basketball team because they find ways to win games they "shouldn't". It has been happening for a really long time and it will happen again.

Hell of a game. Butler is just plain good, and we all knew that going in. If Crean didn't have the players' attention beforehand, he sure will now.

Butler should have been ranked ever since they took UNC to the woodshed.

Not true. A well coached, fundamentally sound team, with a mix of talent and heart can pull off the upset any time, any place.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.
