It's painfully obvious that Sudfeld is the superior passer - better touch, better arm.

We Could very well be 4-4 if we had been starting Sudfeld. Such a shame.

honest question, If IU beats Iowa and gets to 4-5, do you give them a chance to go to a bowl game?

I'm encouraged by the incremental progress and the B1G win, but I just don't know. 6 wins technically is enough, right? I just don't see any way they win four straight. Honestly, the only one I feel marginally good about is Iowa.

I think best case they win two more. PSU is still tough and on the road. Wisky has recovered nicely and is playing well...and our run D will be horribly exposed there. Purdue on the road will be a very tall order. If it were in Btown then a better shot, but it's not. So I'm looking for 1 to two more wins tops. That would actually be pretty good progress in my view.

The thing that killed us in terms of your question is the non-conference losses. Last week, for example, was just a choke job extraordinaire. Plus, IL is a very poor team, so I don't extrapolate too much from this defensive effort. Not yet at least.

yeh, the navy loss (even though i didn't see it) was very disappointing. so far, it seems like they have managed to play to the level of their competition and just manage to lose.
today though- they finally got it done and on the road. granted illinois isn't great but a road win is a road win and i will take it.
if i were wilson- i'd dedicate this game to jack trudeau and all the crap he talked about us last year on the radio.

What will you do if Indiana makes it to Indianapolis? I know it is very unlikely but what would you do?

Hope the win puts the Sudfeld/Coffman rotation/competition to rest for the remainder of this year. It's not that Coffman's been bad, although he hasn't been particularly good. It's just that Sudfeld clearly has a lot more long term potential. So why not let him develop it by starting the rest of the year?

Bigger question that's been raised here already: if Sudefeld does continue to start and plays well, what happens at QB when Roberson is back? Seems ways to soon to consider this too seriously, but Sudfled to me really passes the pocket QB eye test. Roberson offers a significant added dimension, but has he passing progressed enough that it's in the ballpark with Sudfeld?

All this is moot if Sudfeld takes over and blows, of course.

I don't see Roberson as a QB in this sytem. I think he'd be great like Northwestern uses that one guy on their team (name is escaping me, but he is number 2), they line him up in the slot, sometimes in the backfield, sometimes in wildcat. I would like to see Roberson used like that.

Well we got Troy. Now its Anya and Vonleh. Bigger need versus better player.

I do, however, like snagging Troy Williams. He seems to be the type of long, athletic wing with potential that Crean wants for his system.

I continue to read that we are willing to take Williams, Vonleh, and Anya if they were all to commit. I don't understand the numbers and won't speculate on how they would get all these guys on campus, but we sit pretty with all of them. Anya is reportedly down to Indiana and NC State.

I don't put as high of a priority on Vonleh as others do. To me, he's a one and done. That's fine, I love the idea of having one elite, one and done type talent on the team each year, but I'd rather have 3-4 years of a Troy Williams type than 1 year of Vonleh.

Hopefully this is the last class with guys like him accepting them. You would think he would see the writing on the wall regarding playing time and go elsewhere for pt

I hope we get all three. But if we can only get two I want Williams and vonleh.

    I predict:
    1. 3 seniors graduate
    2. Creek pays his way or is done next year and gets a job with his degree or plays overseas. He has a kid on the way.
    3. Zeller and either will or victor go pro.
    4. Austin transfers to get more pt.

That leaves room for the four committed already and Williams, Anya, and vonleh.
Do we really think that Will Sheehey has any shot at the NBA? I sure hope not.

Not a big deal if he goes to NC State with Williams on board, although Anya is a big bruiser inside. Vonleh should be IU's priority at this point. If we get him losing Cody won't seem so bad.

Yes, we do. NBA scouts do too. Probably not after this year, but he is on their radar.

The same way Antwaan Randel El should have been used... You don't want your most versatile guy at carrying the ball to be taking the snap from center. its too predicable- one dimensional. You want the ball in his hands a LOT, but you need to vary the way it gets there.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you
