I agree on Leach. HE would have been a good coach combo with Crean. Because Crean is likable for the both of them.

Figured you guys might wanna know DJ White signed to play for the Shanghai Sharks. That's the same team Bonzi Wells played for and pretty sure Kenyon Martin dude during the lockout. Bonzi put up some ridiculous Oscar Robertson statline that makes me think about moving the some craphole country and dominating a "pro" league that's equivalent to 2A Indiana HS ball. But whatever.

The Chinese league ends in I think March, which's make White a FA and eligible to sign wherever and make a playoff roster. I'd take him over Hans.

Isn't that the same team who Yao played for pre-NBA and then bought post-NBA?

Everyone has given up on Wilson WAY too soon. The offense has already made huge strides even with Tre going down for the season. The defense is still a work in progress but is improved over last year.

It took Crean three years to fix IU basketball. At least give Wilson that much time before writing him off. That has been the problem at IU in the past. They hire a coach and can them after a few seasons and have to restart from scratch all over again.

Yeah, we are never getting anywhere if we fire our coach every few seasons. Wilson was a coordinator at an ELITE college program for years. What kind of better candidate could we reasonably expect to get?

The loss of Roberson a brutal unfortunate blow. We'd be 3-0 if it weren't for that.

I doubt it. The offense wasn't the problem against Ball State. It was the defense. We may have won with Tre, but the real problem is (and has been) the defense.

You don't get a coordinator. You get somebody from a smaller program that has shown capable of building a program and recruiting. Somebody who has shown the ability to beat Big Ten teams.

Because I have yet to see that ability from Wilson.

And people need to quit pretending like Roberson would have guaranteed us a win against Ball State. For all we know Ball State had a great gameplan for neutralizing him, and then had to throw something together at the last minute when he went down. A Roberson led team BARELY beat Indiana State for gods sake.

True you can't build a program firing somebody every other year. But you also can't hold onto them that long. If we had fired Lynch after his first year as HC we could have started rebuilding that much sooner.

But heres the #1 reason why Wilson will not succeed as a head coach at IU

YOU CAN'T WIN IN THE BIG TEN WHEN YOU CAN'T STOP THE RUN

When the opposing team can at will get a first down by handing it to any RB on their team. Your gonna lose.

Good point. The Roberson injury will definitely hurt as the year goes on though.

We look like complete garbage. If Wilson goes winless in the big ten again, should we really keep him?

He may not be a good football coach but at least he makes up for it by being an insufferable prick.

If Knute Rockne rose from the dead and coached our team, we still wouldn't be any good. It's IU football. In sports, you have those certain teams that always seem to lose, regardless of who they have. Chicago Cubs, Detroit Lions, and IU football. I'm glad I really don't care all that much. The only football I care about is played on Sundays. College football is a snoozefest compared to the NFL, IMHO.

When they updated the vBulletin software, the buttons above the reply box broke for me. I can post pictures by manually typing [img][/img] with the URL of the pic in between, but trying to do so with the "insert image" button does not work for me.

Wow. This is pitiful, but not surprising I suppose. Not even marginally competitive. Offense is hideous despite Wilson's "offensive genius".

Same happens to me. Sometimes it works as it should, sometimes I'll have to try it 3/4 times to get it to work, more often than either it just doesn't work..

So how come when Northwestern got called for a Hold, all that was done was a replaying of the down. Doesn't seem like much of a penalty.

What a defeatist attitude. My god people this isn't splitting the atom. Crappy teams rise from the ashes all the time. I guess I am the only person who is optimistic that we will see Indiana in regular bowl games, and maybe with a lucky season or the right breaks, competing for a B1G title down the road. I don't think Wilson is the guy to do it, but I don't think you can fire him after two years. I actually have some seen some progress, certainly the offense looks better this year. The defense though...that's what must change.

Yeah, if only because if we fired a coach at our program after two years it would be incredibly difficult to get anyone worth a **** to take the job.

I am, however, all about putting pressure on him and making him fire our ****** defensive coordinator.

It is a spot foul and the hold was 10+ yards down field. It also took a TD (temporarily) off the board.

Also, my god that defense is atrocious.

Gotta give credit for showing some 2nd half life, but 700 yards offense allowed? Can't make an adjustment to slow down the option on the dive play that absolutely killed us all game long?

There are some playmakers scattered around the offense, but I think Wilson should have tried to establish the run more in the fist half. Play calling on numerous key possessions in 2nd half was weak. Overall though, I'm not sure either of the QBs can do it without more consistent running balance throughout game. Sudfeld is rough, but I think he'll prove to be better than Coffman. QB sitch is what it is...unfortunately.

Apparently defenses are taking the week off. This Baylor/West Virginia shootout has video game type numbers.
