He was the longest tenured Colt on the roster after Manning got released. I guess Wayne is the longest tenured now, followed by Freeney and then Mathis.

Which is weird because despite being a "tight end" that's all he did. For those who watched the preason, who did most of the long snapping?

They save over 1/2 million dollars by going with Matt Overton as LS. Not sure if he did most of the pre-season snapping. They'll need that money if they want to go after any vets that get cut.

We're going to have to find a backup NT somewhere since we cut Anunoby.

We need to pick up NT Ishmaa'ily Kitchen rookie cut from Ravens. Then we need to pick up a Frig for the Kitchen . But, seriously he is a good player and we need a NT in a big way.

Ravens also cut NT Baptiste, another rookie, who Stampede Blue is suggesting we look at on waiver wire. No question we've gotta get another NT. If we're willing to go the FA route, sounds like there's a few good CBs out there. O-line options? Do we have cash to be active with vet cuts (FAs)?

Colts checked out Kitchen in the combine, so there was atleast interest in him at one point. I also think we need a DB, I'd like to see a talented SS in a trade for Freeney. I just think Freeney has been struggling and to be honest, I don't even think it's fair for him as his talent is pass rushing in the 4-3. I love Freeney, but it is time I think. I don't know enough about the rookies to know who is the best available as there are just to dang many, like 700 got cut. I just hope they can strengthen the defense so teams won't be able to score at will. A strong defense will allow Colts offense to stay in the games.

I don't see any 'WTF were you thinking' cuts.

So far I'm really liking Grigson. Hopefully he can find a couple guys on waivers that will help.

Yeah, I agree overall. The only thing I think can be questioned is some of the FA/trade DBs. I have not been particularly impressed with the likes of King, Lindsey (IR, no?), Vaughn, Johnson. Even if Davis pans out, I'm not sure how much quality depth we've added behind he and Powers.

What do people think as far as the WR situation? MIght we pursue some of the vet cuts...would require more financial commitment that waiver claims. But, with the Collie situation and Avery's injury history you've got to wonder a little. Did the hit to the head Adams suffered v. Bengals amount to anything?

Yeah, Gordy looked like one lost mo fo the other day.

I've never played corner except in backyard games so I really don't know how much scheme can effect that. However he seemed oblivious to where the ball, or defender is. Those seem like basic skills that transfer in any system.

Maybe some people to look at. I feel you should get the best available players, but I also think we especially need to fine O-line people, LBs, and DBs. I think if we could find a good pick up in each section, that would be a successful waiver wire period.
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

As a side note, I was annoyed listening to 1070 all day Friday and they kept talking about how we weren't going to keep 3 QB's and how Harnish will be cut.

Not to sound overly OlBlu-ish but if the Redskins game is what our offensive line is going to look like, we better keep 3 QB's on who know the game plan and take snaps every week in practice.

Claimed a S, OT, and NT.

The Indianapolis Colts today claimed the following players off waivers: S-Sergio Brown, OT-Mike Person and NT-Martin Tevaseu. The Colts waived S-Jermale Hines, CB-D.J. Johnson and OT-Ty Nsekhe. The Colts also signed the following players to the practice squad: DT-Chigbo Anunoby, OLB-Jerry Brown, G-Hayworth Hicks, TE-Kyle Miller, WR-Kashif Moore and S-Latarrius Thomas.
