Gotta disagree. If you guys can't come here and gloat after that ***-pounding, why even come here at all? I wish I had bought stock in Vaseline before Wednesday night.

There's a fine line, though, and we were at risk of leaving it in the dust. Remember, this is primarily a Pacers board and these other threads and sub-boards can be fun but they are secondary. We don't want problems to escalate from here back to the main board. I'm not saying its happened on IU/ Purdue threads, but it has happened in other places around here so we're on the lookout.

Believe me, I'd really like to gloat! Darn responsibilities...
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Yeah but OlBlu hates IU so I don't think we have to worry about him coming in here and gloating about the win

Bad News: O.J. Ross suspended indefinitely for unspecified violation
Good News: In no danger of being known as the naughtiest O.J. in football.

That's Ross's 2nd indefinite suspension. Pretty sure the 1st one was academics. Don't know what he did this time but hopefully it's the same thing. Obviously you prefer a kid take advantage of a free quality education, but helluva lot better than the alternative.

I can't wait for Bryson Scott next year. Not because I think he'll win us a dozen conference games or whatever, I honestly think he'll struggle a good bit as a frosh the same way Terone did, he's a shorter 2 whose game is attack attack attack. But the kid is a damn animal, might be the hardest playing kid in the state. Sorta Lance Stephenson-ish, not in talent, I don't think he'll ever be an NBA player or anything, but just demeanor. Relishes the stage, the big matchup, all that "intangible" stuff. There's no quit in the kid, he's the classic idea of a Boilermaker through and through. Had Scott been wearing a Purdue uniform on Wednesday he'd have been outright shaming guys like Terone at half.

I just really can't express how disappointed I was with Terone in that IU game. He could explode for 25 a night next year and that'll still be his lasting legacy at Purdue for me. Oladipo's stellar, but even Ronnie who we ask for way too much from took it to him and Yogi plenty. Yes, a handful of times badly, but I'd much prefer that to just hiding in the shadows the way Terone did.

Here's the biggest problem I see for Purdue right now, individually Hammons is doing some things that might make him think it is OK to go pro. (Ok, well maybe it's not the biggest problem, but it's certainly a concern)

I don't think so, he has tons to work on still, if he left now I doubt he would get drafted. If he makes huge jumps next year, then maybe be could find himself at the bottom of the first, early second, but realistically, I don't think we have to worry about him leaving until atleast after his junior year.
    Why so SERIOUS

The biggest problem for Purdue is talent. They just need more of it.

Our "super" "young" guard rotation: 8-33 FG. There's a "least impressive group of johnsons on TV since ..." joke to be made here somewhere.

Man, I'm not a scout so maybe you are right, but I think right now we are, at best, hoping he stays, even for one more year. Plus, could you blame him all that much if he didn't want to stick around for another year of this?

edit: also, to take the edge off of following only Purdue, let me recommend following Zo's Tennessee's team (a little frustrating, but they play incredibly hard, and have been killed by injuries) and Bruce's K-State squad (all in all, a solid, and improving Top-25 team).

edit2: And Lavin/Keady's SJU is on CBS now playing GU!

and Paul Lusk's Missouri State and Rick Ray's Mississippi State. Considering how young he still is Painter's coaching tree's kinda crazy.

Guys with his combination of size, touch, and mobility do not go undrafted. Hell, they barely even exist. Obviously he's not close to a finished product but that won't stop somebody from taking a chance on his potential. I'd say the odds favor him ending up a lot more like David Harrison than David Robinson but if he puts his name in the draft, I guarantee he gets selected.

No doubt and he's the kind of guy, especially in a draft like this, that all it would take to get a promise in the 1st round from someone is one really good workout. I am not as down on the draft as others, but there is definitely room for prospects to move themselves around over the next month and into March. I mean heck, Oladipo started this season ranked like number 50 on Chad Ford's board I think, and now he is up to 15 and I would be shocked if he is not top 10 maybe even top 5 by the time the dust settles.

I could see him possibly going in the second, but he would have to keep up what he is doing, he still has a lot to work on, no way I could see him sneaking into the first though, also workouts are key, but if he would still be a developmental player when he got to the league. I think he has potential to end up becoming a lottery pick if he works on his footwork, offensive moves, puts on muscle, gets a little more experience and a couple other things. He would be silly to go to the NBA right now and leave all that money on the table.

I don't know that I'd say I'd be surprised, but I think the odds he enters the draft are better than the odds he doesn't.

That said, as a Pacer fan, I'll be pretty pissed if he gets into the second round a season after we picked Miles ****ing Plumlee in the first.
