As for people saying him sitting on the bench 4 years, remember that a lot of those guys will probably jet to the League pretty early.
And the guys Cal brings in to replace them will also be the best of the best.

We will see in time, I think the big reason why he dropped is because he was playing out of position, he is really a SF, he can put it on the floor, he can pass better than many pg's and he can make open 3's as well as drive and finish.

At his high school they have him playing out of position since he is the biggest guy on the court, he is not a back to the basket type guy or one that is his best when he has to bang down low, I consider him a 3 star PF prospect, but a 4 star SF prospect, but like I said we will see when he gets down to UK.

Also you guys act as if ever 4 or 5 star prospect always turned out better than a 3 or 2 star, there are plenty of them riding the bench over guys with experience.

I'm going more off the fact that since Cal has hit UK not a single unheralded recruit has developed at all under his tutelage. I mean look at Wiltjer. Wiltjer was supposed to "get his chance" this year, but he's been totally passed over by the freshman.

Gotcha, I mean Josh Harrellson, but really there were not too many guys in the Cal error that we not 5 stars, and pretty much no 3 star recruits... As far as Wiltjer, I don't think he really fits the scheme and that is his problem, he would have been better off going to a team like DUKE.

I dunno I tend to think Wiltjer just sucks whenever I see him play. He's supposed to be this great shooter, but I don't even ever see him make open jump shots consistently.

He is shooting 40% from 3pt range I believe and has like 60 something attempts on the year, not sure about overall FG% though.

They won at home against an overrated Ohio State team too? Stop the presses.
only two losses before Illinois to top-10 teams by single digits.

Was at the game, and it was a good environment. Thought they played fairly well, but could never get closer than 6 or 7.

Indeed they do, Chambers has a big job ahead of him.

I think by the end of the year this is definitely an NCAA tourney quality team. I don't think they WILL be, unless like every other major player in the Big Ten gets hurt or something insane, nor would they deserve to be, but just in terms of on floor product at the end of the year. Freshman are really starting to get it together, glad to see it seems Davis is full on in the rotation now, I like that kid, real heady player. Unfortunately Anthony Johnson hasn't made the jump I anticipated, at all.

If Painter can get Hammons to stick around for more than 3 seasons, he and Ronnie Johnson will be very, very good together eventually.

Penn State is just not a good job. With the money Nebraska has put into their bball program, it won't be long before they move past PSU in the B1G IMO. PSU is destined to be bottom of the pile forever in the confernce.

Nebraska has so much money for their program because of their football program's success. They wouldn't have the great facilities they have if isn't for the football program

Penn State has a ton of money too from teh football program and doesn't pour it into the bball program. Nebraska is making a concerted effort to get better.

How much can really be left over for the basketball program after paying all the fines and lawsuits?

I don't see it. I just don't think the talent is there to keep this kind of pace up. Other than the Illinois game, which came out of nowhere, we've been feasting on the B1G's bottom tier. The schedule gets a lot tougher, and while I don't know much about WVU, I'm guessing that starts this weekend.
