I'm not sure where that came from. Great win.
I haven't watched yet, and obviously it sounds like Illinois had real problems. But don't underestimate how badly Painter would want to beat them after they canned Weber.

Trevon Blueitt was apparently at the game last night. Thought that was pretty much dead but his recruitment's been pretty hush hush.
That would be a very very good pickup, but you are right his recruitment has been pretty quiet, I think he would mesh well with the groups that we are bringing in, and would add an additional deep threat.

I just see Blueitt as Butler's big recruit when they land in whatever this new Big East thingy is.

That's how I see it playing out too really, but like was said his recruitment's been pretty quiet (props to him and his family for that) so it's hard to get much of an actual read on it. Obviously nothing but positives to read into a kid making an unofficial visit for a conference game. No clue who the favorite is, just happy to know he's still interested.

I don't know really, just sort of a gut feeling. Part of it's probably his recruitment being so low key, usually when a top 50 kid is leaning towards a "big school" program you at least hear some whispers and whatnot.

I've heard a lot of those, mainly for Michigan. Some for Indiana, too.

seriously, I definitely understand wanting to end your senior year and HS career on a high note, but selfishly I wish he'd had the surgery already

Wow, we really had a shot, we still can't hit FT's and we need to stop recruiting soft big man, Carroll is horrible.

I think the best thing that can happen for Lawson is for him to work on his handles alllllllllllllll offseason, and possibly a mid range shot. I

I don't expect him to become a point forward or anything but when he gets the ball it is always scary and the majority of times turns into some type of turnover.

Hammond is where our future will lie...

Senior Dakari Johnson, the No. 1 center and No. 12 overall prospect in the ESPN 100, strengthened Kentucky's stranglehold on the top 2013 basketball recruiting class when he committed to the Wildcats on Saturday night.

With Johnson in the fold, Kentucky now has three players ranked No. 1 at their position in the Class of 2013. Kentucky signee Andrew Harrison is the No. 1 point guard prospect in the nation, while twin brother Aaron Harrison is the top shooting guard. Both are top-five prospects in the senior class.

But the talent in Kentucky's 2013 recruiting class doesn't end there. During November's early-signing period, the Wildcats also inked James Young, the No. 2 shooting guard and No. 6 overall prospect; Marcus Lee, the No. 11 power forward and No. 30 prospect; and three-star power forward Derek Willis.

The Wildcats also recently received a commitment from junior center Karl Towns Jr., the No. 3 prospect in the Class of 2014.

Why did you laugh? he is a super talented player, I saw he in a tournament and he was dominant, he may have had an off year last year but he has potential to be very special.

Maybe because he ditched us to go get buried on the bench at Kentucky?

Beyond that it is just funny that all of the other recruits have these ridiculous accolades, and then they throw in "three-star forward Derek Willis"

Hell, UK's class may be the best ever so even if he's sitting the bench for 4 years he'll always be able to stick "member of most heralded recruiting class in basketball history" on his resume

He was a high 4 star at one time, had a bad season and got dropped to a 3 star, but he has potential to play right along all of those guys, just because he is ranked lower does not mean he doesn't have a chance to beat those guys out.

As for people saying him sitting on the bench 4 years, remember that a lot of those guys will probably jet to the League pretty early.
