I am a lifelong ND fan and I will say Purdue has the same if not more talent than ND this year. Purdue lost this game almost solely due to bad coaching.

edit: ^Elfert was probably the best player on either side, and your LBs are better, but agree that Purdue is at least even in all other categories.

kravitz joins the chorus. hope marve is OK: would take Marve+Terbush over Terbush only, if those are the two options.

    edit 2:

some quotes from presser. two interesting ones from hope:

    Q. I know you're familiar with Tommy Rees. Can you talk about your impression of him today when he came in on the last drive?
A: Well, I thought that was a really good decision by their head coach.
    LOL!

    Q. Danny, you didn't have Ricardo on the field for the last drive. Was he injured or just on the sideline?
He was just on the sideline.

    Q. Performance deal?
    Coaching decision.
He's pretty much just blatantly lying here right?

Hope says Marve has a chance to come back and play this year. Not sure how he can say.

edit: they really need to get a new surgeon, no joke.

edit2: i think we are going to have to burn gunner kiel's redshirt now.

Dr. Shelbourne should really stop advertising that he's the preferred orthopedic surgeon for Purdue.

But I'd like to get some stock in his practice.

I feel terrible for Marve, really terrible. That's what, 4 ACL tears? And he still wants to play, but much as I think he's the best QB on the roster, I don't want him to try again. His knees just can't take it.

That's what I was wondering, maybe his knees just cannot do it. Damn shame.

With Notre Dame now having to play 5 ACC football opponents a year, is the annual Purdue-ND game in jeopardy?

Could be. ND's going to play 5 ACC teams a year. They'll probably want to keep their USC, Navy and Stanford games. Keeps them relevant on a more national scale than just the midwest. So that's 8 games, they keep Purdue, UM, and MSU that's only one open date a year which just isn't realistic.

A Notre Dame beat writer was on Dakick yesterday talking about the new schedule. He expects Purdue to stay an every season event. He believes that Michigan State and Michigan would go on a rotating schedule, likely in 2 year home & home cycles.

I hope so. Much as I dislike ND Purdue needs that home game against them every other year. Good luck finding another realistic out of conference opponent that'd come to Ross Ade and put it anywhere near capacity.

Watching some of this OSU-Cal game...not too impressed with OSU...The Cal D is making absurd errors in pass coverage, and Miller takes advantage like a third of the time.

I read somewhere on Twitter that Purdue was going to be with Michigan and Michigan State on that rotating schedule. Honestly for Notre Dame the Michigan game holds much more appeal and, of course, more $$$.

That was about as unimpressive as a 40 point win can be. Sure, the Boilers had some big runs, but that won't fly in the Big Ten.

    The defense looks good though.

So Wisconsin barely beat Utah State 16-14. I've gone from "hey, it could happen" to kind of expecting Purdue to win the division.

Sure, but the rest of the (eligible) Big Ten is pretty crappy. It's 2000 all over again.
