    Default Barbosa?

Maybe I missed it, but I never heard what happened. I guess we decided not to pick him up?

“People talk about how quiet he [McKey] is, but he’s really been helpful. He gives a lot of insight to players in how to guard certain teams and what their weaknesses are. The whole team listens to him, and it makes my job a lot easier. Having players like him is what pro basketball is all about for me.” —Larry Brown

He's still a FA. I read not too long ago that he had interest in going to LA (before they picked up Meeks) and the Cavs. Not many teams have seemed to show interest in him however.

He didn't do himself any favors in the Heat series in a contract year. He was supposed to provide a consistent scoring boost off the bench, but failed in that series

Im a little shocked no team has picked him up.

Hes has a solid NBA career - he can provide scoring off the bench.,
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

I think I am finally on board with giving the minutes to Lance (and OJ) and not bring back Barbasol... Before the Playoffs I would have thought that was crazy talk...

Let's just say there is a reason we got him for just a 2nd round pick.

Yes. He plays out of control and while he does some spectacular things, his game doesn't work in the playoffs where possessions are so important.

I think people are overly down on him because of one series when he was going up against the likes of Dwyane Wade. He's still a solid bench guy and would still be one of the few guys on this roster who you could give the ball to and could create his own shot. I don't have a problem with bringing him back and having him battle Lance for PT, nothing wrong with healthy competition.

I understand that DWade made it tough on him... But the other side of the microwave-ish coin is that if he's missing he doesn't know when to begin deferring... I was still with him trying a couple of games in... But he should have known when to slow his role... And some of the shots I remember him taking had WTF written all over them... To me Vogel should take quite a bit of that blame too though... He should have given Dahntay more burn when it became painfully obvious that Barbs couldn't do anything...

As far as next season goes... I just don't see Barbs being happy about it if both PG & Lance end up ahead of him in the rotation... I dont know... Maybe I have him pegged wrong... And maybe I'm getting too up on Born 2013?'s chances of making a big leap this year...

Nope.. the guy is just a blackhole he did it a few times during the season he only has eyes for the basket and not his teamates i am not a fan of those types of players.

you do realize that was his job? vogel told him that his job was to shoot the ball. that he was the scorer, not the passer.

That was his job though, and often times, the rest of the second unit consisted of Collison, Jones, Hansbrough, and Amundson. With the exception of maybe Collison, there weren't exactly glowing alternatives. Against a stingy heat defense, this was clearly magnified.

His job may have been to shoot and score, but that doesn't mean he has to be a blackhole. There is a difference between a scorer and a blackhole. One scores, and the other plays a game of 1v1.

Younger players that are streaky scores have passed him up. Guys like Jordan Crawford, Lou williams, Nick Young

He was a lesser version of Dahntay in virtually every conceivable way IMO. Horrific decision making, streaky shooting at best, little defensive presence, and no concept of team play whatsoever. The only positive about him was that he made Lance look like an acceptable alternative as a backup small 2.

Barbosa can devastate bad teams with his instant offense. The problem is, he's a liability against the better teams. I think the Pacers were looking for more offense and it backfired a little bit

Now they are doing the same thing with Green. Not exactly but similar. More offensive punch on the second unit...on the wing.
