The best part about people bringing up the rookie of the year like it matters is that Peyton didn't win rookie of the year either. I have no idea how this doesn't get brought up more often, but whatever

I think this is true. But I also think the Colts have made it clear that they aren't as much concerned with Luck having pretty numbers this year as they are with him gaining a complete understanding of both the Colts offense and opposing defenses. Which means growing pains. Luck and the Colts could care less about him winning the rookie of the year. I'm guessing most everyone's seen the articles about Luck learning and digesting the entire playbook from the very beginning. And the Colts using the no-huddle offense throughout some games and Luck's work in two minute offense attests to this. This strategy will pay huge dividends later this year, next year, and the coming years especially. Again, the goal isn't rookie of the year, it's about winning in the playoffs and winning super bowls. And that starts with the quarterback.

But this isn't to say what the Colts coaches are doing is perfect. Why they're not incorporating their tight ends and running backs more often, and not using more slants and other short passes that move the ball and move the chains, I have no idea. I mean the lack of a running game, the sometimes shaky protection, and inexperienced receivers contribute to this, but incorporating some of this is common sense. Some of these plays are just an extended handoff for guys like Peyton and Brady.
Or how about a screen pass or two. Opposing defenses are blitzing us more and more, it'd be great to catch them on a screen to a RB (remember that Donald Brown TD in pre season?)

I think a big part of that is that we are having to keep the RBs back in to block.

I still haven't found an online transcript of the radio talk show I heard yesterday. But since I am in the area, I found this article on the Washington Post where Wilbon from PTI says that RGIII is the best player in the NFL right now. Peter King also predicts multiple superbowl titles for RGIII and the Redskins in the near future....

And you think we are being absurd when it comes to Luck?

Those are national columnists, take it up with them.... But, yes, I think this site is absurd about the QB rated 31st in QB rating.... RGIII is listed in the top three or four. Why shouldn't everyone be excited about him? They are everywhere in this country but that small spot in Indiana that stil thinks Luck was the best QB taken in the draft. He wasn't and he will never be. The question is will he ever be better than rated 5th among the five starting rookie QBs? I think he will move up a bit over the coming years but you may as well face it, the rest of the world does not believe Luck is in RGIII's league and neither do I.......

    LOL at Peter King,

He says once he gets the protection that RG3 needs they will win multiple championships. The Redskins will be in a world of hurt next year and the year after. They have very little draft picks to fill out the line and they have cap penalities from 2010 that basically takes away their 2013 cap space.

They are effectively screwed for 3 years and with Eli in the division I can't see them winning that division until he retires.

I know you are jaded listening to Irsay's lies over the years but Washington always finds a way to sign anyone they want to sign. They will do it again next year... King knows their situation and he knows Washington will find ways around it.....

Yes, Washington has been winning championships for years with their free agency policy and leadership. Oh wait...

I didn't ignore anything. I have the paper in my hands right now. I was looking for national writers who were saying how great RGIII really is because that is what we were discussing when everyone starting wanting links. So, I gave you links. Feel free to run a link on the article you are talking about. I also checked in on the Redskins forum and they have a member who has posted here once (he can't find a way to start a new thread and neither can I although I have asked for information a few times) and he is posting comments from folks here about Luck and RGIII. They find you all most amusing...... and a bit crazy..... feel free to check it out.....

No I wanted link saying in your words not mine, that one of the Redskin assistants was basically saying Luck would be a bust. Good to know we're being stalked by a Redskins board. The only Redskins member I know who posts here regularly seems to think both QBs are going to be great.

I think I said that Wilbon says RGIII is the best player in the NFL right now..... How is that suggesting he is projecting? I suppose Peter King predicting multiple Super Bowl titles for Washington and RGIII was not projecting either.... Silliness.....

I suppose I should have considered the source. If only I can happen to catch a moment when MSNBC gets that dude Maddow or rambling retard Sharpton off the air long enough to discuss the NFL, perhaps then he'll take me a little bit seriously.

Random tangent, but I about popped myself after the second presidential debate when they went to Sharpton and his big take away from the debate was that he didn't think there were enough minorities in the audience.
