I mean Dallas Clark had 37 catches for 488 yards in his third season. I'd like to see Fleener get into the end zone some more too, but I can't really say his production is bad.

Fleener is on pace to get around 50 catches this season. That's pretty solid for a rookie tight end.
Considering he plays on a team that has to pass on just about every play, that is not earth shattering..... Again, I take Thame and draft two offensive linemen high. But, I like to protect my QB.... Irsay could care less....

Yeah, star QBs get benched all the time.

Yeah Jacob Tamme is crushing him with a whopping 23 receptions.

Tamme (thanks for the spelling correction) is a pretty good receiver. However, he has competition in Denver for playing time. He did very well when filling in for Clark and Peyton was getting near all pro numbers out of him. I am not big on this but I sure wasn't big on drafting two tight ends that high in the draft when we had no offensive line. Just me, I guess.... I believe the game is won and lost in the trenches with the offensive and defensive lines and not with over hyped college QBs who don't live up to their publicity....

    Ace,

don't you think one reason Weeden fell so far was because of his age and not his talent level?

If you had 2 players of comparable talent level, then would you go with the 23 year old or the 29 year old?

Not saying the talent level of Weeden is comparable to Luck but may not be as far off as the draft position would otherwise indicate. Due to age, he won't likely have as long of a career as other rookies.
Everyone, LUCK IS WAY BETTER THAN WEEDEN!!! lol I'm not arguing otherwise. I was just suggesting that he hasn't overwhelmingly outplayed Weeden thus far. Luck is undoubtedly the better player and prospect.

Over hyped college QBs who don't live up to their publicity even though he is having one of the best rookie years of all time and has already done something that hasn't been done in 40 years.

I actually think we should go to our TE's more than we have. We've been running a lot of 3 WR sets with Hilton and Avery, and I think we would be better served to play a lineup of Wayne, and Avery on the outside, Fleener in the "slot" and D. Allen at the TE position.

Our TE's have looked good when the ball is thrown to them, as opposed to constantly trying to go to Avery and "butterfingers" Hilton over the middle.

Huh? Hope that wasn't to me Joe, I don't think Luck is overhyped in the least.

No, generally if I use something silly like that in a post it is directed at the guy who keeps spouting in every thread.

You have statistically one of the best running backs in the NFL this season. That's pretty important.
    Yeah, I never disputed that.

We also have noone else, so teams can key in on Morris

Don't think anyone is saying your offense is "strong", but have you seen Indy's offense? It's literally Andrew Luck, Reggie Wayne, and then a buncha guys. Sometimes Donnie Avery resembles an NFL WR. Not saying that some of thes guys won't eventually develop, like our rookie TEs and WRs, but as of right now, it's a very raw, inexperienced, mistake-prone group of guys.
    All fair.

At least you have young guys who can develop.

We have wasted 12-13 years of draft picks, so the young guys we have are few and far between (and that is counting everyone, not even disecting that down even further to the ones who actually pan out)

I don't agree that Romo sucks but I am certainly not a Dallas fan. It probably comes as no surprise that I decided to hate them when Tom Landry was treated in a shameful manner and fired...... Won't watch them unless they play the Colts now (or Washington and Denver).....

12-13 years is an overstatement. That would include Reggie Wayne, Freeney and others.... I will give you that the top of the last five years of drafts left a lot to be desired but Hughes and Brown are still with the team so not an all out bust.... A lot of those bad early draft picks were offset by finding very good starters from undrafted free agents like Brackett and others....

And he still does incredibly well, what did he have 120+ yards against the giants on a 5/carry average? That is a good *** running game, so clearly your offensive line is doing something right.

He is confused easily. His personalized Browns Weems jersey was a bad choice.

I never disputed any of that...........

I would argue it is more of a system and less of the line, but I guess they are one in the same.

Again, just because I say RGIII has outpreformed Luck, doesn't mean I think Luck has played poorly. I think Luck is good, and has been great given his circumstance. But RGIII has looked better, with only half a field and half the playbook.
Taking all things into consideration I think they have looked pretty equal at best. So many times fans make these comments and don't take into consideration the teams they are playing against. Put RG3 against the Bears his first game and I put a large amount of money he looks like complete crap like Luck did.

Fact is both of these QB's are good against mediocre DB's and poor schemes. Is someone really going to defend the Giants pass defense or the Saints? I hope not but one game that came and went where I think RG3 out performed LUck was the Vikings game and RG3 had the best total QBR that weekend to show for it.

Right now Luck is two spots ahead of RG3 in the total QBR rating so ya when you actually weight defenses they are about equal.

IF I was a Redskins fan my fear would be if the other teams figured out that college system. In the end I think they will but it may take a year or so much like Peytons stretch play became the way of the dinasour and the Miami wildcat.
