I don't want him now that I'm reminded of his... baggage.

Speaking of wanting a backup PF instead, I still don't understand why we aren't a natural partner with FA Carl Landry.
Or asking about Kenyon Martin. Or how about DJ White, who would likely be super cheap.

I agree, another backup PF should be on the Pacers list. What are they gonna do if Hans continues to play horribly? Get Ian or Plumlee minutes at PF?

Idk why NO would do it. They have a glut of PF's (Anderson, Davis, Warrick, Jason Smith played PF last yr)

    It'd sure be nice though

If Larry were still in charge, I would say that we are going to go after Landry with the mini MLE... But I think Donnie do nothing is set.

From what I've been reading about Landry, he's wanting a multi yr type deal, and more than a minimum type contract.

Like a lot of other guys did, he may have to settle for what he can get at this point.

Why do we need another small forward? We need another power forward and a third bench point guard in case of injury.

I'm an IU fan, but I have to say there would be a reason DJ White would be cheap. He just isn't that good.

He hasn't amounted to much so far and his character is suspect for attending IU in the first place......

Howard is simply not talented enough for me to care about him, I don't even have to take the time to evaluate how I feel about the so-called character issues. We don't need what he brings to the basketball court. Pass!

I watched several Utah games last year. He had a prominent role of the bench to try to create offense. He was inconsistent at it, IIRC. He wasn't bad, he wasn't terrible. He was Meh. He would try to score hell or high water, at times, which would drive me crazy. My problem would be if he's disruptive offensively by taking bad shots. He is okay enough to play in a pinch, imo, on a good team. Like many have said, I really don't care except he gives you depth, but balanced with his history, I don't see the point, I'd rather work a deal for Leandro or a Power Forward.

Kenyon Martin, I love that he's a mean SOB, problem, I think he really is, like in real life. I'd not want him in the lockeroom, I'd be concerned he'd keep it a little too real.

DJ White, I mean he's as good as bad Tyler without the chippiness, but without the horrific figured out/tired game. Again, meh, I don't see the reason to give up on Tyler possibly improving this year to settle for a guy I don't think will ever be very much better than he is now.

Landry, makes so much sense, I don't know what his PER is, or any measure of effectiveness, but everytime I watch him, all he does it produce. Ya, he's not a starting PF in this league on a good team, but absolutely could see him being a very good back up on a good team. Like many have said, you don't have the money and if NO doesn't want to help him get here, I'm not sure how it would happen.

I really don't know what the plan is after this year. Tyler doesn't improve, David West is aging an could get a nice offer somewhere else. I'm not sure what the plan is, but its so early and as we've seen things can change quickly. I could see reupping DWest for 2 more years 20 million (not to start that whole argument again), but we'll see.

BTW, any news whatsoever on what Hansbrough is doing to get better other than dancing with a 40 in his hands? I really thought he'd be driven to get better in the league, this is a huge year for him.

You want wing depth go sign Donte Green or Dominic McGuire for peanuts.
McGuire would be excellent. He is a rebounding machine.

And we are stuck paying $3M+ for Hans. Landry is a steal at $4M.

Lance can slot over to 3rd pg. As far as another bench PF, I don't know that the value there would be that much greater than Josh Howard. If you're down to your last big off the bench as a main cog, you're likely in trouble anyway.

I would have to pass on him. We have too many young impressional guys on our team and I don't want to see them in trouble because of this guy.
