And did somebody see how Barbosa played against Australia?
mediocre. high volume, not very efficient. And it's not like Aussies have NBA level defenders.

Since he was a FA this off-season he decided to skip the Olympics to focus on finding a new team & contract. Not sure this was a smart move on his part as it's pretty hard to qualify for the Olympics, so he might not get another opportunity...
i think they'll qualify, France seems set for another decade.
but... Mahinmi's contract is up in 4 years, prior to the next Olympics!

One game FIBA is " waaay more physical than the NBA," and the next game...this.

I don't care what their rules are. I just wish they knew what they were.

I love Doug Collins color glad he is still blunt even though he is a HC. Agree 1000% on his take on Batum way overpaid for what he brings or some nights brings.

Batum has the same weakness tayshaun prince has. It takes him half an hour to wind up and release from distance. Very easy to bother his shot.

Just saw that a guy named Ike Diogu had 13 points and 10 boards in a Nigerian win over Tunisia ...

that's hard to achieve when you have to take a ref from every corner of the world.
If they just took the best refs from Europe, it would be much better.
But add refs from India, Japan, Kenya, Morocco, China, Lebanon etc, and refereeing gets all over the place.

FIFA (soccer) world cup has the same problem. Euro continental soccer championship has far better refereeing than the world cup.

A prime example that being 'politically correct' isn't the way to go for every single thing.

Durant and lebron are just way better than any other player on earth. Even on a team of superstars they both stand out.

NBC Sports Network, used to be Versus
Is there a reason why it's nothing but wall to wall repeats of George Poveromo's World of Saltwater Fishing on my feed (meaning my NBC Sports Network channel, which is channel 30 / 830 (SD /HD) on Cinergy Metronet)? This is obnoxious.

Anthony Davis needs to play more. Silly as it sounds, he brings things to the game that almost nobody else on this team does.

So... If you square up a defender backing you in, it's a blocking foul, but if you turn your back on him and force him off balance, it's a travel?

I don't know about Cinergy Metronet, but there's a channel on DirecTV dedicated to Olympics basketball called "NBC Olympics Basketball Specialty Channel" - channel 752. They had all of last night's games on back-to-back. They're replaying the USA/France game right now.

So the man with the best name in the game, Pops Mensa Bonsu had 22 points for GB! I kind of like his game...pure hustle, but a bit undersized against those BIG russian guys.

He looked old and slow during the NBA season, but he's looking great in the Olympics.
