    Default Science question

Why does our moon have no name?

It's simply called The Moon. The other planets in our solar system have names for their moons

Maybe we do have a name but it's classified because it's too embarrassing/dumb to say aloud. And they carved the name into the surface of the moon, but you have to go there in order to find out what it is.

I thought it was called Luna officially and the moon just as shorthand, like Sol is our sun, but we just say "the sun" instead.
