Default BUMPED: 2012-2013 Official Win Loss Prediction Thread (post 100, p4)

Just thought I'd start this thread to see what people's thoughts are on what we are capable of this season. With no real thought after just reading the schedule 5 minutes ago, my gut prediction is 49-31. I have us splitting a lot of series, getting the brunt end of a few 3-1 series, but ultimately taking more of the 3-1's ourselves. Have fun with the predictions.

Edit: Apparently, I lost two games. Updated Prediction: 50-32

I'd say around 50 wins. But get back with me in late October right before the regular season starts

52-30. Lose to Heat at Miami in Game 7...maybe lose 4-2 instead though. Wishful thinking.

58-24... We WILL be better this year... Full camp, improved roster, Chicago and Orlando markedly worse... Jersey and Knicks NOT really much better...

We are the 2 seed and will make the ECF... Only way we have a chance to beat the Heat is with an injury to Lebron or Bosh...

HEAT will challenge 70 wins this year...

    Just my prediction...

Way too early to say. Wait until after the preseason games are played, then at least an informed guess can be provided.

I wonder about Miami. Their roster is not set up to win a lot of regular season games as it does require Lebron to be superman to win the title. Playoffs are another matter. They will still win enough to lead the east.

I think that with the additions the heat have made to their roster, along with a non-compressed schedule; add to that a shot for Lebron to one-up MJ, the Heat are poised for a run at legacy...

Soooo many questions with the new guys, but with the existing starters as well, imo.

-has there been any improvement for Paul George or Tyler Hansbrough, if so, how much?

-Is George Hill different being the starting Point Guard from day 1.

-Is DJ Augustin as poor defensively as has been said?

-Who gets the back up 2 guard minutes?

-Is Lance a rotation caliber player?

    -Or really whats the rotation?

-How good is Mahimni's defense? Is he able to play as part of the defensive scheme (BBall IQ)? Can he stay out of foul trouble?

-Is Gerald Green as good as he was in 31 games last year? Whats his defense like?

-How is David West not coming off a major knee injury?

-What kind of shape is Danny in?

-Can Plumlee contribute depending on the match-up?

    -Is Augustin a 38% shooter?

    -Whats the lockeroom/team chemistry like?

-Is Roy improved, has he gotten better at defending the P-N-R?

-What schemes do the coaching staff have with a full offseason and camp?

-How will the team respond to being the hunted?/

-How much improved or not improved are the other East teams. (NY and Brooklyn or Atlanta, for example)

I could go on, so many variables. The Pacers did have the good favor of being healthy and having a compressed schedule that benefitted a team that went 9/10 deep, last year. They also, are in the pack of teams from 2-8 thats really pretty close, in the East, especially with DRose out until March and Boston still aging, and the DHo fiasco.

With all of that said, I'll go with UB and say 50-32, for now.

Well for 1. Lebron's mentality isn't like that. Now if we were talking about someone like Kobe who is constantly worried about his legacy and one-uping Jordan, then yeah. But with Lebron coming off the olympics, Wade and Bosh coming back from injuries, trying to figure out a way to incorporate Ray Allen into the offense, their lack of bigs, the fact that EVERYONE will be gunning for them again...I think they wont be at their best until the playoffs start. I see them being a favorite in the finals, but the regular season is a long one. Idk if they'll be too worried about it, as much as they'll be focused on finishing strong in time for the playoffs.

55 wins 2 seed, rematch vs. the heat, this time in the conference finals.

Roy and Paul both take steps, and we'll have the benefit of West being 100 percent from the start. We're going to be very good.

I agree 50-32 with this current roster. A narrow Central division title hold, simply because there is no one else much good this year. And I think that is a lofty prediction.

Think I'll wait to see if any additional changes are made and then how training camp goes. 50 wins sounds like a good number, Playoffs depend on the seeds, if we can avoid Miami we can get to the ECF, if not...

I don't think so... The schedule is out and you prolly won't see too many more major transactions this offseason... Dwight is obviously still looming but from all reports he will only be going to a Western team until Lopez is available for trade in January...

It's never to early when people are predicting winning seasons

At this stage I'm looking at 50-32. I also think things start out rough, being on the road, and the bandwagon springs bounce a bit as people dive off. It will settle down by December and things will get rockin' until the stretch where we play a ton of top teams in a fairly short period.

I also figure no matter how well we do it will all be due to having the easiest schedule and if we'd had even an average schedule compared to everyone else we'd blah blah blah blah blah.
