Now is the time to interject ourselves into this and offer Hansbrough for Lee.

Houston actually wants potential players, not complete garbage.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

I feel bad for Pendergraph and Hansbrough. Poor guys were called "garbage" and "turds" in successive posts.

I think they respectively have 1.5 and 3.1 million reasons not to care.

But we could offer TWO power forwards!!!!! They would be so much closer to an all power forward roster!!!

    We wouldn't have any though.

    A. Sherrod Blakely: #CelticsTalk: #Celtics trade for Courtney Lee still expected to go through. #Rockets will waive E'Twaun Moore, making him a free agent

Gary Washburn: Don't expect JaJuan Johnson to play a game for the #rockets, according to a source he will request a trade

probably just emotions talking. a rookie, first trade. going to a team that has 42 power forwards and considers everyone a trade asset.
probably just said something to somebody and it found its way to twitter.

I'm sure he'd like a trade, what guy like him wouldn't when you're going to that roster. Doesn't mean he won't report or anything.

^I think he would be waived and have to get a new contract (the current one is non-guaranteed)...doubt it would be over a mil though...

as much of a purdue/moore fan as I am, he would be fairly redundant given stepheson and (what we hope) orlando j turns into...

so basically if this trade gets done (the way it was reported), Lee starting salary would have to be under 4.3 mil, or up to 4/18 (at most).
    Not bad at all.

I love the posts that are for E'Twaun Moore being waived and the pacers signing him. He can play PG or SG now. He can shoot too I would take over Barbosa and OJ.

If we don't pick him up, I hope some team picks him up. He deserves to be on a roster.

I am sorry, if the money is the same there is NO WAY I would take Moore over Barbosa.

Yeah, the Rockets like collecting PF's. They collect PF's like Kahn collected PG's.

No, but the money won't be the same. I really don't think Barbosa will get ~1mil.

^isn't the relevant criterion whether courtney lee is better than mahini?

so, did the celtics get the better deal, getting Lee for Johnson (older, although intriguing project), Moore (to be cut), Williams (cut) and a 2nd?
or did we get the better deal, getting Mahini for DC and Dahntay (both expiring)?

add in to that, the celtics actually HAD to give something up b/c of the cap, to get Lee, whereas we could have signed Mahini outright?

    ps: e. moore > e. gordon

    purdue fan out.

tbh, I think those aren't comparable deals, for the reason you mentioned. We basically did two separate moves there, which were legally combined because it seemed convenient.

We signed Mahinmi into cap space we had. One move.

We traded DC to get rid of Dahntay and save some $ next year. Looking past the legal shape, a completely independent move. It should be judged on its own merits.
