I think you do. The problem the first go around, was Otis Smith simply didn't do a good enough job of building around Howard. That doesn't mean that strategy doesn't work, it just means you need to do better the second time.
Bynum is worth the max contract he's going to get. Same as Hibbert was worth the max contract we gave him. Orlando needs better pieces around Bynum than they put around Howard, but I think you can win that way. When Bynum is motivated, he is one of the most dominant players in the league. You need a superstar to win. He can be that superstar.
How many chances do teams have to get a guy of Bynum's caliber? Not many.
Get Bynum out of my division. Come on stern, be a dick and veto this!
Edit: according to ESPN Bynum would go to Cleveland and Verejao to Orlando.

I should say I think Howard's decision to accept a longterm move to LA has no bearing whatsoever on the course of the trade talks. LA wouldn't have cared what he was saying. They would try to get him regardless. How many players are going to take less money to leave LA. I'm guessing none. I think the Lakers would have the same guess.

If you have the option to build around a dominant post player, you do it every single time.
Well, with the exception of Jordan and Lebron I guess.
Money trade for the Lakers. They're now the team to beat...again.
Good deal for the Cavs, assuming Bynum doesn't kill someone.
Horrible deal for the Magic. I know they pretty much have to trade Howard, but still...
The only good news in this is that it now removes Orlando as a threat to us.
Kyrie, Waiters, Jason Richardson?, Thompson and Bynum? no bad.

I was hoping at least one person would agree with my logic, if not my conclusion.
I don't understand why Orlando just doesn't receive Bynum, I think he'd be more attractive than anything else they could get.
This isn't a done deal. I'll believe it when I see it.
Wake me when this Dwightmare is over.
I know the counter to this will be that the Clippers are in the same building but by the time the Clippers moved from San Diego to L.A. each teams culture was already set and even then some tried to give the Clippers a shot only to find out that Sterling actually viewed his team as a money making enterprise, not just a rich man's hobby.
But, as you stated, location will only get you so far. They are able to sucker teams more than one could even imagine.
Varejao, multiple picks for Cleveland, a pick from LA, and dumping a bad contract or two has to be appealing for Orlando, and better than fewer picks and a 1 year Bynum rental.
Still if I am Orlando, I would be asking for Zeller as well.
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)
Why so SERIOUS
This trade is starting to become laughable, with what Orlando is getting, Picks from any of these teams will most likely be in the 20's, if they do not get Prospects back in return then it seems like they are wasting their time.
And no we do not need Varajae or however you spell his name.
Why so SERIOUS
That is why this trade is not close to happening
What Howard does or does not want has nothing to do with Orlando trading him
It's about what Orlando wants and a trade will not happen until they get it.
For what it is worth I still think he goes to Houston
They don't have power in this situation. Every team in the league knows Dwight wants out. Which means every team in the league knows that Orlando can either chose to get nothing from Howard or chose the best of the worst deals that they are offered.
