I think that we have 2 spots left.

    Our starting 5 + DJ + Ian + Tyler + Gerald + Lance + Miles + Orlando + Pendy = 13

With Barbosa and Fes we would be exactly 15.

The pacers may start the season with 13 or 14 players.

It's definitely a possibility. I'm just saying that we have the spots if we want them

I think Stephenson can miss the hoop with as much effectiveness as Barbosa did.

Barbosa has a career field goal percentage of 46.1% and 39.1% from downtown. He actually made 42.4% of his 3's with the Pacers.

Comparing Stephenson's shooting ability to Barbosa's is beyond insulting. Barbosa once made 190 3's in a season while making 43.4% of them. Stephenson has made 4 3's during his NBA stint.

If you honestly believe Barbosa is on par with Stephenson, wow.

I didn't say Barbosa is on par with Stephenson for shooting ability, I said that he can put up shots (from anywhere) and miss with about the same effectiveness as Stephenson. And the stats from last season back me up. He may have made 42.4% of his 3's with us last season, but he shot just under 40% from 2 and overall. You cannot quote a career year for Barbosa that happened 5 years ago with Steve Nash during the prime of Phoenix' dominance as the reason he is better. Lance shot 13% from 3 and shot 37 or 38% overall; I'm okay with that sort of loss for cost.

For a more realistic approach with more detailed reasoning, you should see the post I made that you commented right after.

I hope he is in fact not coming back and our roster is set as it is. I just don't think Barbosa would add much and he wouldn't be worth it, especially since we went and traded for yet another similarly sized 2 guard in the second round.

there is no comparison between the two. Stephenson has done little with the chances given him. Barbosa has done much. At this point it is looking more like Stephenson will continue to do little and fade into basketball obscurity. Barbosa will always be a productive team mate for whomever is smart enough to employ him.

I'd be happy to see Barbosa back. Yes, he played poorly in the playoffs, but in the regular season, he was good for us. Plus with Green, Lance, and OJ as our backup wings, we could use some experience.

I think OJ will pass Lance and Leandro on the depth chart by the end of the year, just my opinion though

Barbosa is horrible on defense. We need someone who can stop somebody.

I loved Barbosa during the regular season. He has such a great attitude and he's a good teammate. He really struggled shooting the ball during the Miami series but DWade is a really bad matchup for him. He still hit some timely shots... that shot right before halftime of Game 4 to put the Pacers up by 8 for example.

He's always been one of my favorite players. I won't hold a rare shooting slump against him.

EDIT: I keep seeing people mention OJ but he's not under contract yet and I don't think he's a lock to make the team.

You misunderstood. I was talking about Orlando Johnson.

Thanks, ejwallace. When did KP tweet that? I'm at work and can't check Twitter right now.

not a back re-signing...as long as the price is right. I hope we didnt over pay him.

I think we have a pretty decent second unit.

    Augustin
    Barbosa
    Green
    Hansbrough
    Mahinmi

We definitely have some scoring options.

What happened to "giving Lance Stephenson a chance to prove himself this season"?

    Is that done now?

I'd rather Lance play more but he probably will rotate with Barbosa on the backup 2 depending on the matchup.
