Default Does Barbosa re-sign with us?

Yay or nay? Think he would accept a new cheap offer from us to give us a DJ/Barbosa/Green backup lineup? He was huge for us post ASB but fell off a cliff in the playoffs.

I think that Lance is ready to have a good season for a backup wing, but he would most certainly struggle in the playoffs, more than any player on our team. Well unless if Hansbrough is going to be playing. I think Barbosa has a better chance of a successful playoff outing than Lance.

I don't think he re-signs with us but I assume that our backup shooting guard minutes are eaten up by Gerald Green and George Hill.

    So, neither I guess?

You need more depth than that, what if Hill gets hurt?

I think Barbosa is going to demand too much money to have him as a third string SG.

We shouldnt be paying a third string more than $3 million, IMO

That's the emergency scenario where Stephenson plays.

Well we didn't extend his qualifying offer so we'd only be able to give him the vet minimum, right? So honestly it's moot anyway, I think.

We have Lance, so if he doesn't want vet min. then I'm ok with that.

When Boyle interviewed Vogel after the Hill and Hibbert presser, Vogel said that Lance will be the backup SG.

If he would be willing to sign for the vet minimum I'd say yes. I don't think he will though. I originally said yes but someone will offer more to him. I like the idea of Lance getting more minutes.

I thought the lady from Area 55 said that Frank said Leandro was coming back, as confirmed by another PD poster... now if I can't trust a tweet from Barb from Area 55, who can I trust.

I think he could be useful, but I don't think we're going to sign him. There isn't enough cap. Tyler & West both expire when this year's done, we'll need to resign at least one of them.

P.S. Can we stop making poll answers that include things completely irrelevant to the question, like "Lance is our back-up SG". Not everyone who thinks Barbosa shouldn't or won't come back thinks Lance is going to be or should be the back-up SG.

He's obviously not what he used to be. If we can get him for the vet minimum then I'm fine with it. I'm not sure if I like our backup sg situation right now unless Lance really steps it up this year.

There's no future with Barbosa. He is what he is at this point. If Stephenson is going to contribute, and the Pacers believe in him, then you gotta throw him out there and go with it. Any minutes given to Barbosa that would take away from Stephenson's development are wasted minutes, in my opinion.

Wouldn't mind just cutting ties with him. I honestly feel like Lance will have a lot larger role on the bench this season. Glad to hear Frank say he'll be our backup 2. Should be interesting...

Whether he resigns or not, I think a lot of people on here are too critical about Barbosa. He absolutely did get killed trying to guard Wade (but don't many?). He also shot the ball lousy against the Heat.

That said there were plenty of games where he sparked offense on the bench and was a great contributer. Don't get me wrong, I am about 99% we won't resign him, but he is far from the bum that many want to perceive him as after Miami.

I wish there were more than 2 choices in the poll. Neither option is especially appealing unless Barbosa was willing to take a super cheap deal. I still see an outside chance of one more FA signing (we still have the MLE right?) or perhaps trading Tyler for something. At least I hope so...

I'm ready to see what Lance can do. It's sink or swim time, and I'm wanting to see if Lance is worth it. Personally, it would be better to see if Lance is capable; than to let him rack bench minutes, and he goes to another team and ends up being a 6th man award candidate. Even if he fails, lets see if he has IT!

If Barbosa is cheap I say, why not? Tell him his roll is to mentor the younger players and he will be an emergency back up in the case Lance flops on his face and if he is ok with this role that is even better, if not bid him farewell. It couldnt hurt anything.

I'd prefer to not sign Barbosa and have Orlando and Lance take the remaining WingMan minutes.

If WE MUST sign a Wing Man to add some depth....I'd prefer to wait it out and see what Free Agents falls through the cracks for a cheap price. As TBird suggested.....the longer we wait...there is a greater chance that we can get a Free Agent at a "Below Market" price.

It's not great.....but if Barbosa is not the guy....and if things work out...I can see the Pacers signing Delfino at a much cheaper price than what we'd expect. I don't want ANYONE to get in front of Lance or Orlando for any WingMan minutes...but if we have to...I'd rather have Delfino over Barbosa.
Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.
