    This is really weird.

If you look at the price tags/assets given up for Mahinimi, Green and Augustin, why would Plumlee and Stephenson be ahead of them in the rotation? You also cut Hansbrough out completely after averaging 22mpg.

To each their own but I figured we were aiming for realistic rotations.
What assets did we give up for Augustine or Green?

I explained why minutes for Lance... We've invested enough time that we need to figure out whether to resign him next summer. Can he play with the big boys? If not, then DJ will obviously be getting his minutes.

Hill will be the primary backup SG behind PG, who will get spot minutes at the 3.

Tyler was a TO waiting to happen last year and I don't know anything about Manhimi. I liked what I saw out of Plumlee though and can see him getting FC time at both spots. Won't be surprised in Manhimi gets those minutes, but I'm pulling for the rookie.

So we're not going to start the guy we just gave $40M to?
I don't think comparing salaries is necessarily the most intelligent way to put together a lineup. Hill could easily get the most minutes of any guard on this team with my proposed lineup playing both guard positions. Among the most minutes on the entire team, in fact. I would have him on the floor most of the game.

Augustin would be far more effective distributing the ball to our top scorers in the starting lineup, particularly our bigmen. Why would you have the best distributor on the team passing to Hansbrough instead of Hibbert, Granger, and West?

I'm not satisfied with 29/30 in the league in assists per game. Maybe that's just me.

Agree that. Why we want D-Will and Nash? Cuz we wany a good playmaker.
Now Augustin is better playmaker than GH. Let him in the starting lineup to creat more opportunity for other best scorer on the team.
Hill can score and better than DJ. When the 2 unit, the worse scorer, on the count, Hill can do the job he is good at.

that's a really nifty graphic, how did you make that?
I'm assuming he made it with Excel 2011, which is what I used. However, by my powers of deduction, he must have been making it on a PC, as the Mac version of Excel 2011 does not appear to have a gradient fill for cell backgrounds. Which is evident because, by also thinking his graphic was nifty enough to reproduce for my own depth chart, I tried making my own on Excel 2011 for Mac, and searched everywhere (both in the app and on Google) to find out how to format them this way. And I failed.

However, here is my same visual representation of my preferred Pacers 2012-13 depth chart, as the roster currently stands (plus notes):

    * I expect George Hill to start at PG and back up Paul George indefinitely. I'm kind of banking on something happening that sends Paul to the starting SF role, George to the starting SG role, and DJ Augustin starting PG. Until then, I expect that much for George, DJ, and Paul.

** I think Lance is going to get the primary back-up SG minutes, until he or Green have proven otherwise that Lance does not deserve it. In this case, I simply switch those two between opposing rows (Green moves up one, Lance moves down one). Orlando will sit below both of them until proving otherwise. He won't distribute enough to even promote being high on the PG rotation.

Ü As I've stated before, I do believe that Plumlee might already be better than Hansbrough on several levels, so instead of waiting to see what comes of that rotation, I'll just go ahead and state that Plumlee will be PF'ing over Hansbrough right off the bat. Pendergraph backs up Hansbrough just because he's still a huge question mark, and Hansbrough at least has shown SOME form of being able to do something. If, as some have speculated, Hansbrough is moved, Pendergraph steps up right behind Plumlee.

Not marked: Mahinmi rocks that back-up 5 spot like a boss, playing a long, athletic wall of defense next to Plumlee on the court.

Our arena, their arena, Rucker park, it just doesn't matter. We're bigger, longer, younger, faster, and hungrier.

    This is tough...

    Hill - Augustin - Stephenson
    George - Stephenson - Hill - Johnson
    Granger - Green - George
    West - Hansbrough - Plumlee - Mahinmi - Pendergraph
    Hibbert - Mahinmi - Plumlee - Pendergraph

    Rotation:

    Hill - Augustin
    George - Stephenson
    Granger - Green
    West - Hansbrough
    Hibbert - Mahinmi

With Hill picking up SG minutes, George SF, and Mahinmi and Plumlee getting backup big minutes in needed.
