Funny this pops up now. I was just going through some youtube videos and landed on one where he was doing a foreign dunk contest. Did a a through-the-legs dunk from the free throw line. Not bad! I was wondering if he would get another go in the NBA any time soon.

I wonder about the guys attitude. He is an athletic freak and has good skills. I wonder why a guy with his skillset can barely find a job in the NBA.

Same reason Gerald Green wasn't in the NBA either, just cause you're an insane athlete doesn't make you a good NBA player. GG improved his shooting tremendously.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

The may have an impact on the NBA slam dunk competition, but not on actual NBA games.
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

I understand all of that. His basketball skills are not bad either. I have seen him shoot and his handles are good. I am thinking it has something to do with attitude and being a bad locker room guy or something.

But in the same way, White may have matured through two routes to Europe, and may just be grateful to be back in the States, playing for a prominent NBA team, rather than Spartak St. Petersburg (Russia), Dinamo Sassari and Scavolini Pasaro (Italy). I think he might flourish a bit in New York (Lin blew up, Steve Novak got his 15mins), and will be a better backup to Melo than some other options. I liked both him and Green, so I wish the best of luck to both of them (but more luck to Green).

Our arena, their arena, Rucker park, it just doesn't matter. We're bigger, longer, younger, faster, and hungrier.

I think it goes beyond improving your skills. There are other things like watching film on other players/scouting opponents, etc. In fact I think that was specifically mentioned as an issue with Gerald Green when he first came into the league.
