Kravtsov is a 6'11, 260 lbs C with a 9'3 standing reach that mainly plays above the rim. He is a defensive player with a very limited offensive skill-set. He'll turn 25 in August and he was signed in a multi-year deal for the league minimum.

    Here's a block:

It's an interesting move. A decent pick-up for the league minimum.

Pistons are looking to build a front court to be reckoned with. They're going to make it a pain in the *** to take it to the rack against them if Drummond and this guy develop.

Got to wait till April 1st to post this here.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Have you seen him play? He seems to be a bit of a mystery. From what I've read, very athletic, good defensive player, but can't score beyond a dunk.

Also, I can't remember where I read it, but I think he's getting two years at $1.5 million per.

I wont pretend I have any clue about this guy. Brian Hill coached the Ukraine national team and was the driving force behind us getting him, so ill trust his judgement.

That's what I've read as well. I haven't seen him play, though, since the Ukrainian League is not easily accessible.

As for why I'm posting this here:

    1) I want to listen to Kstat's opinion about the signing. Personally, I consider it a good move.

    2) The Pistons are Central Division rivals. They seem to form a quite interesting core so we may as well keep an eye on them.

    3) As you all know I'm quite excited when European players sign for NBA teams. Especially, if they were previously undrafted.

As for as the type of player he appears to be? I think it signals a shift in Dumars's philosophy. We've been one of the lightest teams in the NBA since he started running things. It looks like he wants a more traditional lineup, with big space eaters in the middle.
