Has anyone seen the exact numbers for Hibbert, Hill, Mahinmi, Green and Augustin yet?

Once Houston amnesties Scola, Rockets will be able to absorb 2nd max deal next summer in addition to Howard now. Gives them chance for CP3.

I hope Paul's completely non-committal all season in front of a camera but really he just drags it out until the extension deadline and takes his max deal in LA. Just troll the whole league, this dump everyone for cap space and maybe, just maybe, we might get a superstar! stuff is getting so old.

I know Howard has back problems but if Griffin's knee/leg or whatever it was is as bad as it was made out to sound, I could CP3 and Howard teaming up in Houston.

    4 years 58 million Hibbert
    5 years 40 million Hill
    4 years 16 million Mahinimi
    3 years 10 million Green
    1 years 3.25 million Augustin

I think those are accurate. But I'm assuming you mean broken down year by year so my reply is useless

CP3 isnt signing an new deal till next summer regardless. It is better financially for him to wait (the NBA needs to fix that loop hole)

I love Scola, but we desperately need a PG. If this was a position of need I would be all for being aggressive. But right now we have much more pressing needs than a Brand or Scola.

We kind of just signed a PG.

Frank Vogel is probably texting him as we speak. Scola has to be a favorite of Vogel he and West play his style of basketball to a tee.

We have 5.5m left Vnz need to shop Tyler+ Pendy and picks and that would put us at the full amount of the contract.
So why don't we just try and trade for Scola? Offer Tyler and Pendy.

Maybe HOU gives up a draft pick since they keep their amnesty. After this season Scola just becomes West's salary at 10 mill then expires.

They want cap space, not more salary.

I thought it was mostly for CP3 next year. Does 4 million for one season kill their Howard hopes?

If they have to take back Richardson or turkoglu? Yeah, it might.

If they wanted cap space next year, they would have amnestied scola next year.

i hope Dallas gets Scola (as we would prob not have enough money for him) so we could scoop up Brand... just thinking of this DJ,Lance,Green,Brand, and Mahinmi as our bench.... that would be beast

I'm just saying that not using an amnesty and not having to pay a player to compete against you could be a better option.

If it was just all about this season, they would amnesty Martin.

They wouldn't be doing this now unless it was a last resort. They could have easy traded scola for value. They must really need the cap room right now.

It sounds like neither of us know exactly how much cap room the Rockets need. A trade could be an option.

Scola seems like a much better fit there than Brand, tbh.
Brand is nice, especially if you want him to play some 5 as well.
But Scola is a considerably better scorer, and if you surround him by all these big long athletes with ability to pass, it seems a perfect situation for him. He'd be an offensive catalyst and get 6th man votes next year.

Yes but they would still have scolas salary next summer. By doing this they save immediately and next summer.

Same could be had with a trade.

Like I said, it could be an option, we just don't know how much space they need.
...but they've already announced that going that route. They don't see a trade as a viable option.

Oh, so Scola has already been amnestied? Or could HOU end up not doing that?

Seriously, I didn't know the Rockets said they would, just that they're considering it.

Well, reportedly they're going to do it tomorrow, as the NBA is closed for business for today.

If a franchise under the cap were to offer to absorb his salary for a draft pick? I'm sure they'd do it. I just don't see a team available willing to do that, and i think they would be dead set against taking on any salary whatsoever.

After the bobcats snubbed him, I don't think any NBA franchise wants Tyler right now. His value is shockingly low.
