Frank Vogel says "Killer instinct, start strong, build a lead and then step on their throats."
It's an excellent question.
I think most people realize that our team last year wasn't top 5 on pure talent. We had that indefinable chemistry going which allowed us to play better than our parts.
This year's team looks better on paper, but will it mess up the chemistry? I'd like to think no, since all the most important guys are returning (esp. West and Hill, the key additions last year). But it's hard to predict, and I wonder whether the loss of vets like Foster and Dahntay will hurt the locker room. Adding another vet like Scola or Brand would ease these concerns I think.
The question is can we trust DJ at starting point. The guy who led his team to the worst NBA record in history.
I think our best rotation would be like this.
PF: West/Plumlee or Hans
DJ would facilitate the ball much better then Hill and would help reach our starters potential a lot better.
But can Hill actually look for his offense ? Almost always hes looking for guys off screens and in the second unit he shouldn't do that.
Just because he was leading the worst Team in the NBA doesn't mean that he can't lead any other Team.
I really prefer to have a Point Guard rotation of DJ and GH...where DJ plays an average of 27 mpg ALL at the PG spot and then GH playing an average 21 mpg at the PG spot and then about 8+ mpg at the SG spot. This allow for a longer SG/SF lineup where PG/Granger/Green and some combination of Lance/Orlando to play the remaining minutes at the SG/SF rotation.
But I hope that Vogel doesn't go with the whole "5 in and 5 out" method of substitution. I am sure that he will establish a closing lineup....but I think that we have enough versatility to have a VERY SOLID 5 man PG/SG/SF rotation of GHill/PGeorge/Granger/Augustin/Green with Lance/Orlando getting a minimal amount of minutes. This would allow for a lot of different matchups and types of lineups to throw at the opposing Team.

Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.
This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.
Been a big fan of DJ for a long time.
Glad to have him here!
Stop quoting people I have on ignore!

Very happy picking up DJ. Upgrade over Collison IMO.
Some strange and unexpected moves from the draft til now, but I'm pleased overall.

Just out of curiosity, but would we have the money to sign Chris Paul next offseason if David West took a discount on his next deal?
I can't help but wonder if that's been our play. Admittedly, it seems a pipe dream, but it's a damn nice pipe dream

Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.
- Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
- Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
- Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.
Enjoy your time at PD!
Tyler was too similar to crap this year.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

I agree! Tyler is one of the best "backup" PF's in the league period. Even after a down year he was still one of the better backup 4's. He is not a starter and shouldnt be judged as one!
