I might be missing something but where did you get that number?

if the sign and trade doesn't happen we can still sign DJ, i just think the FO wants to get rid of Hans
Wow, you're right lol. I totally didn't even think about him being a free agent right now but if he's restricted we come up against the same situation that the Blazers did with Roy and with Roy in the wings on signing his offer sheet with the Pacers could end up killing this whole thing quick fast and in a hurry if Jordan waits us out. Honestly, it's not a bad deal if the Bobcats are looking to get at least something out of all of this instead of nothing then Tyler playing back in Carolina would be a pretty damn good thing for all involved

So we're looking at giving the Bobcats Hansbrough and giving DJ 2 yrs at 7.5 when his qualifying offer is $4,385,415?? Seems like we are lowballing him a bit....
From a money standpoint, you are absolutely correct. But lets think about it this way: You are DJ. You know that Walker is the starting point guard and PG of the future, and that he will get the most time. You know that you probably won't get a lot of PT because the team is tanking. You know that if your take your QO you probably won't have a lot of chances to showcase your worth. So if you could go to a playoff team with an open PG slot and either be a solid backup for 2 years or a potential starter, and then cash out for big deal afterword...that deal doesn't look so bad anymore. No other team really can give you the same opportunity...

Knowing TPTB we'll send Hans and 2 first rounders for Augustin.
Because TPTB have been known to give away draft picks to other teams?

What is this? It's like if we didn't S&T Tyler and Collison for Josh Smith we failed.

Wasn't our starting 5 better than Miami's? Didn't we go up on them 2 - 1? If our bench was worth half a **** for 2 games we might of done something. Why the hell can't we just mix up our bench and come out with a bigger and faster second unit that can actually score or maybe protect the rim??

Even if we don't manage to trade for Augustin, there are still a few decent point (or combo) guards in the free agent pool:

    NBA.COM - 2012 NBA Free Agent Tracker

    Aaron Brooks
    Raymond Felton
    Jonny Flynn
    Randy Foye
    Nate Robinson
    Ramon Sessions
    Delonte West

Yeah, the 2/7.5. I found it earlier in this thread. Some fan who knows DJ's best friends mothers brother or something like that...

    Jonny Flynn, really....

I can't believe this trade isn't going to happen, This trade should have been before sending DC out!

You realize that had Felton not turned down the Bobcats offer to sign for less with the Knicks two seasons ago, Augustin would still be a 2nd stringer right?

Not a fan of Felton. Brooks will probably be too much.

I know I'm in the minority here, but Delonte West would fit our system great, and he's a veteran. And he'd be cheap.
Lance + Starting SG = Awesome

    Now really free Lance!

I'm guessing we probably gave up a first rounder or Paul George as well.

I hope you meant that to be in green.

I campaigned years ago to bring Augustin in over Lawson and DC. I've cooled on that, but I wouldn't give a 1st for him let alone PG. A 2nd yeah. Maybe even Stanko.

It was meant to be in green, I'd really hope, he's just not a fan of the moves made so far.

DJ Augustin's decent, but if our long term outlook at the 1 is Hill at 8 mil per and Augustin at 6 or so per, I am not enthused.

No he was talking about last time we tried to get Augustin. Rush was included with TJ for Augustin and Henderson.

Yep, it was a knee-jerk to what we gave up to get Mahinmi. At that rate, we'd have to give up a 1st or a Paul George to get Augustin.

Other than that one season in New York what exactly has Felton done, and like has been said earlier Augustin even with that crap on the roster dished out more assists on that team than anyone else on our team last year. If he can be had for what's being reported than I'm cool with that.

    You quoted the wrong post.

Back to your question. Other than being seriously considered for the All Star team while playing under D'Antoni in NY, what exactly has Felton done? Well he completely outplayed Augustin while they were both in Charlotte leaving absolutely no doubt in the minds of the coaching staff, front office, and fans as to who was the better PG.
