If the Bobcats were to let Augustin walk for nothing, I'm surprised they wouldn't want Hansbrough. Their roster is pretty horrid imo, they ranked 25th in attendance and Hansbrough is in his final year. Unless they truly believe they're going to compete for a playoff spot, I see no reason for them not to want a fan favorite on their roster even if it's just for a season. North Carolina fans love Hansbrough to no end. He was like their Tebow. To be honest though, there aren't a lot of power forwards pick from if he were to strike out on Brand. I
If we were to trade Hansbrough for Augustin and win the bid for Brand, that would be pretty wicked.
George Hill, DJ Augustin
Danny Granger, Gerald Green
David West, Elton Brand
Roy Hibbert, Ian Mahinimi
Then we could still sign another SG perhaps?
Just curious though, why is Augustin seem to be the one guy we really want? And we did put in a bid for Brand, right? Seems like there are some other directions we could go.
PG: Jordan Farmar, Jerryd Bayless, John Flynn(eh...), Mike Bibby(eh... did hit some clutch 3's in the playoffs though)
SG: Leandro Barbosa, OJ Mayo, Courtney Lee, Delonte West, Jodie Meeks, Rudy Fernandez, Randy Foye, Shannon Brown, Marco Belinelli, Michael Redd
PF: Antawn Jamison, Kenyon Martin, Daniel Orton(I know he has busted knees but he's only 21), Carl Landry, Kris Humphries, Jason Maxielle, Anthony Randolph
Do we just have no shot at Jamison or Martin and that's why we'd put a bid on Brand? And same thing with the point guards, are we going after Augustin because we feel like we have no shot at the others? Doubt the Pacers would even want Bibby or Flynn. Shooting guards though... I'd honestly take any number of the one's listed. I'm assuming we can't afford Mayo, Lee, Delonte, Humphries and Landry?
I'm really interested to see how this all plays out. Right now, it could honestly go either way. We could end up putting together a better roster than last year or a worse roster than last year. Getting a back up point guard is the most important thing at this point I'd have to think. And you'd think the Pacers have something set up or why would you trade away your only back up point guard? Especially one that's pretty good.
