Settle down folks. More moves have to be on the way. If we are flipping Tyler for DJ Augustin, I think this works out well. Plumlee replaces Hansbrough as back up PF, Augustin replaces Collison, Mahinmi gives us an actual back up center (we actually really needed one too). Then go sign OJ Mayo which will let Paul George still start, but back up Granger as well.
Do all that while keeping Hibbert and George Hill, thats a pretty nice off season.

The worst part about this sign and trade is the amount of money that the Pacers gave to Mahinmi along with the length of the deal. IMO he has barely shown he is worth a guaranteed contract of any type let along 4 years and $16 million.
So the Pacers give up Darren Collison to take on, at best, an average back up big man. Plus they trade Dahntay Jones. I understand DJ frustrates fans but I think he provided some leadership and depth at the 2/3. Now all the Pacers have there is Lance Stephenson and Orlando Johnson both of whom are probably not big enough to play a lot of 3.
To top it off the Pacers want to land DJ Augustine? Trade Tyler for him? IMO DJ is not that much of an upgrade, if any, over DC and I am not sure that Mahinmi is an upgrade over Tyler either. Granted Tyler didn't have a good season last year I would rather keep him than get IM.
This sign and trade and potential acquisition of DJ just don't make sense to me. Maybe the Pacers are not taking a step backwards but I certainly don't think they are taking a step forward either. I might be underrating DJ though...
