    It's not the same.

    Here are DJ's averages in his best season in Charlotte: 14.4 PPG, 6.1 APG, 2.7 RPG, 0.7 SPG and 0.0 BPG. He shot 40.1 FG%, 33.3 3p% and 90.6 FT%. He had a 54.1 TS% and 47.4 eFG%.

    Here is what Kemba is averaging this season: 17.6 PPG, 5.7 APG, 3.4 RPG, 2 SPG and 0.4 BPG. He is shooting 42.4 FG%, 32.3 3p% and 79.2 FT%. He is posting a 51.6 TS% and 46.6 eFG%.

DJ is more efficient (mainly due to better FT shooting) but Kemba beats him at everything else.

Kemba is also bigger and more athletic. Plus he is only in his second season at 22 years old so he has room for improvement.

McDermont I think have people worried because he'll be a liability at the small forward defensively. I also get the feeling he'll not rebound well at all at the next level at his size. Small forward is slowly becoming the most well rounded position, much like the shooting guard of the 90s. Don't get me wrong, a shooter who will challenge the 40-50-90 club will always have value but he will need to find the right system that can help mask his short comings and see a huge benifit from his strengths.

I suppose his scoring punch (if he can replicate his shooting in the pros) would really help the Pacer's bench, but the team defence is only as good as it's weakest link. I think we all can see a noticable decline in the defensive intensity once DJ steps on the court. And we don't even rely on the point guard to rebound like we would Craig.

I could see McDermott being a great scoring threat off the bench for a contender. He can also be a stretch 4.

I think McDermott can be a useful player on someone's bench, but I'm still worried if he can guard anyone.

LOL! I said DJ wasn't "half bad" in Charlotte. Gerald Henderson is been playing great of late in Charlotte, but that doesn't mean he'd play that way somewhere else. Unfortunately, the Pacers found that out the hard way with Augustin that his game was only "half good".

I never was that fond of Walker in college, nor am I that impressed with his game in Charlotte. Charlotte seems to be able to make players look better than they actually are. Case in point is McBob has been productive in Charlotte of late.

I don't think there is any doubt about that. He is going to get killed at the NBA level if left alone on a decent player. His shooting will keep him in the league but my god does he move bad. He is way to slow to be a 3 and not big enough yet to play the PF. His skills in the post I don't think transfer versus NBA length and size.

But man has he been fun to watch the past few years

Thing is that Kemba is only in his 2nd year in the league. He hasn't had a "career path" yet. He is still a developing player that is showing good signs.

The way you worded it made it seem like Kemba is a bust. He isn't. That's why I answered that he's not half bad.

Both Kemba and Henderson are good players. Being in Charlotte helps showcase their talents since they get to dominate the ball but that wouldn't make them bad players in other teams.

DJ is not producing well here since he doesn't fit our system. He is a pure PG and thus he is a bad fit for our offense. Our team has destroyed several pure PGs since Mark Jackson. He isn't big, long or athletic enough to fit our defensive system.

Talking to a friend in KY, and they said PG Ryan Harrow was transferring out to a Georgia school, and that Willie Cauley-Stein, Alex Poythress, and Kyle Wiltjer were staying.

I am watching the McDonald's All American game when they went over the 6 recruits coming to KY. Talk about reloading! Pretty obvious why Harrow is transferring out. He had no chance of playing much for KY.

I truly wish Noel would stay, but it doesn't look like he will, especially if he's the #1 pick in the draft.

Actually I remember reading somewhere that he was transferring to be closer to home due to health issue with his father.

Yeah Ryan Harrow is transferring to Georgia State, coached by former IUPUI coach Ron Hunter.

Kentucky is going to be absolutely insane next season.

I wonder if that is the real reason though.

i reckon cal might have said to him your no longer needed anymore.

I don't wanna assume, we know what happens when we do that, but I think it has a lot more to do with the lack of playing time he'll get next year than anything. The sick father is to hopefully get a waiver to play immediately. Maybe I'm just being a cynical *******, hope so.

Here are the best defensive Centers
    1: Mike Muscala
    2: Gorgui Dieng
    3: Jeff Withey
    4: Steven Adams
    5: Alex Len
    6: Mason Plumlee
    7: Cody Zeller
    8: Kelly Olynyk
    9: Isaiah Austin

    best Offensive Centers
    1: Kelly Olynyk
    2: Mason Plumlee
    3: Jeff Withey
    4: Steven Adams
    5: Zeller
    6: Alex Len
    7: Gorgui Dieng
    8: Mike Muscala
    9: Isaiah Austin

Besides Noel, Withey is probably the best Center prospect and Isaiah Austin should probably stay another year to progress his skills because he's just not NBA ready. Drafting is for the most part subjective , so that's why I broke it down into 2 lists. If you're a top defensive team and have strong defense at other positions, Kelly Olynyk would be the best choice. If your team needs a good defensive backup , Muscala and Dieng are the best choices.

My list of best SG prospects :

    1:Victor Oladipo
    2: Ben McLemore
    3: Carrick Felix
    4: B.J. Young
    5: Jamaal Franklin
    6: Shabazz Muhammad
    7: Archie Goodwin
    8: Brandon Paul
    9: C.J. Wilcox

Carrick Felix is currently projected as the last pick in the draft at Draft Express. He is a diamond in the rough. Jamaal Franklin is an athletic freak. Shabazz is overrated. Archie is definitely a project. BJ Young, and Jamaal Franklin are the best passers of the group. Oladipo is just on another level.

The list is comprised of players listed in Draft Express's latest mock draft.

Out of curiosity, why are you so high on Oladipo? Even over McLemore?

He's the most NBA ready because of his defense and athletic ability and he can hit a jumper now plus create his own shots. Mclemore could very well have the better career though, dudes a freak.

Trey Burke is hard to evaluate. He could end up having a career such as Chris Paul or like Kemba Walker. I'm leaning more towards being on the same level as Kemba.

I'm not saying that isn't true, but people in business and gov't give being with or closer to family as a reason all the time for leaving. That usage is as common as salt.

What reason did Bird give for leaving the Pacers?

Or Harrow saw the handwriting on the wall he'd be a permenant fixture on the bench, and would rather go someplace where he can play, especially if it's close to home and family.

It's hard to evaluate players to draft. Dunleavy has had a decent career, but it doesn't rate where he was drafted. Toolazy to look it up, but iirc, it was #3.

    K Brown #1
    Darko #2
    Childress #6
    Diogu #9
    Tyrus Thomas #2
    Adam Morrison #3
    Sheldon Williams #5
    Yi Jianlian #6

Those are just some top #10 picks who never lived up to their pick position.

Then there are those who were drafted in the 2nd rd who were successful. In the 03 draft, the following players are still playing:

    Walton
    Blake
    W. Green
    Pachula
    Bogans
    Bonner
    Mo Williams
    James Jones
    Korver

In 05 2nd rd, instead of drafting the infamous Lorbek the following players could have been picked

    Blatche
    Gomes
    Amir Johnson
    Gortat

This is a prime example of why it's hard to evaluate players. Some GM's have more success/luck than others. I'm sure there will be some misses in this draft too.
