    1. Pacers don't need a center
    2. He's not physical enough for the NBA
    3. we need a guard
From what I've heard, he is not a Center. He is a Power Forward. We need a Power Forward because at some point David West will have to retire.

Is my info wrong? Isn't he supposed to be a Power Forward at the NBA level?

Ok, here is how I view our needs at the moment:

    1) Power Forward of the future.

    2) Sharpshooter SG.

    3) Back-up PG.

Which players can fill those needs? That's what I'd love to learn

PS: An extra wing defender could not hurt, of course.

Nuntius, you are spot on in every way. Including Cody.

The issue is, Cody even with all his issues is not dropping to the Pacers.

Even IU fans give him a hard time. And non-IU fans an even harder one. And then you have Coopdog who would have you believe that both Cody and Victor are not even actual basketball players.

The fact is still, Cody is still a 7 foot athlete with decent touch around the rim who can out run most guards up and down the court. And those just don't usually drop to the 25 range.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I may not watch a lot of college hoops but I do follow discussions in various sites regarding the Draft and check DraftExpress, Draftnet and such from time to time.

I have noticed that Cody has fallen but he hasn't fall as low as our big. Oladipo has also risen far above our pick so far.

So, my question is this. Which players would fill the above needs and could be around our pick?

For example, I remember liking Nicholson a lot in the previous draft but he was gone before our pick even though he was projected in our range.

PS: Also, it's fun to dream that we could somehow nab Cody Zeller

For backup point i like peyton siva from louisville athletic, good defender, solid court vision, not the best shooter but can score. I'd rather lance play some point though.

I really think that our PG has to be able to shoot.

In my opinion, a PG has to have the following traits in order to be a good fit for us:

    1) Be able to play good defense.

    2) Be able to shoot from 3.

    3) Keeping care of the ball / not turning it over.

    4) Size and / or length.

I am of the opinion that we actually use our PGs in a similar manner as a Triangle offense and thus we don't need a creative PG.

I certainly agree. I can see him playing backup PG. Vogel has said a lot of times that he sees him as a SG, though.

We are a few years from needing a starting caliber PF of the future for our 32 year old power forward. That makes sense.

I honestly don't think if he even comes out this year, he will be available for the Pacers to draft him. He'll be top 15

I didn't say Zeller. Your logic is just flawed.

I'm sure he will be taken in top 15 IF he comes out. I don't think he'll leave school this year

Gary Harris has vaulted up into the top 10 on Chad Ford's Big Board. That didn't take long.

Some GM must really like him is my guess.

Top 10 sounds really high to me. I wouldn't be comfortable with him that high.

I am just about to put the Texas vs OK game on. See if my scouting report on him from last year still hold true. I hope it doesn't hope he really is killing it. Decision making is key for him.

EDIT: Looks like he hit the weight room quite bit. I remember him as a small guy now he is ripped. His defense is terrific ball hawking.

On offense he still looks lost without the ball in his hands. I didn't like him for the Pacers for just that reason he was a terrible off ball player last year. In the Pacers system that is a must you have to be able to move and play without the ball if you are a pg. I will dive into more tape on the guy in the next few days. But there is no doubt he is a lot better with the ball in his hands really making better decisions. He is a blur and for that reason he will be a good NBA change of pace guy at the very least. But with his defense he is probably more. Plus he is still super young will be a totally different player in 5 years time.
