Psyren, I understand your frustration... We really have a lot of options remaining, not named OJ or in the Free Agent Pool... If Lance finishes SL strong, and we pick up Brand for cheap, we could package DC an Tyler and First for a nice Nice Player...
Im just playing devils advocate with you guys.

And what do you think we could actually get for DC, Tyler, and a (presumably) late 1st rnd pick?

    Just curious.

I did say looking like... and, SLOWLY making DC irrelevant... Lance, has always been erratic and too flashy. He has been in complete control and confident the last 2 days; and against Jackson, who is a legit backup guard.

    Optimistic..
Optimistic is 100% fine by me. I was just pointing out that "Rondo with a scoring touch" might be TOO optimistic.

Guy's been stashed on the pine for two years.. At this point I just want to see him be at least a solid backup (which he is starting to show he can do).

Agree.. But he is only 21 years old, and put up 28 and like 6 or 7... Hes got great handles and hes playing with great maturity right now...

Tyreke Evans... For continuity sake, Another combo guard who will be RFA next off-season... Give us another guy 6th man, who will clear cap this season and who could make DG tradable or at WORST gives us a very tradable asset at deadline... Not saying has to be TE... Just saying, that type player...

No offense, but the only reason we think Jackson is a legit backup is because a lot of people liked him coming out of the draft. He might be total crap. He played 501 minutes in 45 games last year.

I like Lance and what he's doing, and I wanted Reggie last year, but I'm not more excited about what he did today because it was against Reggie.

So we can wait until all the good FA's are gone?
All the really good FAs are already spoken for (Deron, Nash, Gordon, and well, Hibbert). The remaining guys aren't difference makers, so I really hope that we won't go and overpay one of them.

I think that you were quite clear that you were just curious and was not making an actual proposal but I can see why the guys felt the need to address it like they did

There is absolutely no way that Collison+Hansbrough get us Tyreke.

i have a theory of who the pacers want to get. Eric Gordon after NOH matches. Since he can't be traded to PHX and doesn't want to stay in NOH. Plus NOH are going to find that Austin Rivers is a SG, not a PG.

Actually, I said DC, Hans and a First for Tyreke... They are NOT going to extend him as of now and are happy with their other options... He has never been happy there... Again though, I didn't say Tyreke necessarily, but a player in his situation... Unhappy fringe All-star, expiring and looking for a change of scenery... That's what I was really talking about...

He's not going to resign here either, so why bother trading for him?
With the #3 pick in the 2015 draft, your Indiana Pacers!

Collison is an undersized guard, they already have 3 of these - Jimmer, Thomas, Thornton. They don't need him. Hansbrough is a PF that shot 40% from the field last year. The pick is going to be somewhere around 20-25. Tyreke may be unhappy with the Kings and the Kings are unhappy with Tyreke but this is still horrible value for a guy who had 16/4.5/4.5 last year and will turn 23 in a few months.

Thanks for setting me straight yoadknux... I was asked what kind of player I thought we could get for D.C., Hans, and a first... Tyreke was the first player that came to mind... I didn't run back and look at the roster of the team... All I know is that he doesn't much care for them and they thought well enough of him to start bringinging him off the bench... 2 solid backups and a First Rounder is an adequate deal for Tyreke Evans as far as his current predicament is concerned...

Roy tweeted he's "about to do something special" about 45 minutes ago. I really, really, don't want to read too much into such an innocuous statement. But if he's about to sign his deal, our cap space...

Well, with Roy he could be getting ready for an MMA sparring session or having a piece of chocolate cake. It really could be alot of things with the Big Fella. But your right, if he's signing his contract, I would think that has a huge impact on what moves can still be made.

I wouldn't be thrilled either, but I think so long as at least Hill hasn't signed yet, we'll have about $6m left.

Nope. Once Hibbert signs, Hill's cap hold will knock the available space down to less than $3mm.

NBA Rumors: Portland Trailblazers Never Intended on Signing Roy Hibbert Away From Indiana Pacers

After the Indiana Pacerseventually decided that they were going to match the Portland Trailblazer’s four-year $58 million max contract offer to center Roy Hibbert, the Blazers brass decided to revoke that offer quicker than the fans in Portland could say ‘Sam Bowie’. This entire fiasco could run deeper and more personal for Portland’s team and front office. The truth is, Portland may not have been very interested in Hibbert at all.

Portland was the first team that jumped head-first into the free agent pool, by opening up their max offer to Hibbert literally less than five minutes after free agency began. Hibbert, one of the few true starting centers who can make an impact in today’s NBA, was expected to be a hot commodity in free agency. Still, many believe that Hibbert’s skill set, although constantly evolving, is far from worthy of such a monstrous offer. In fact, Portland’s owner Paul Allen openly criticized the Minnesota Timberwolves for offering a max contract the Trailblazers’ swing man Nicolas Batum. If turnabout is indeed fair play, then why would the Blazers be so salty at the Wolves for doing the same thing to them that the Blazers were trying to do to the Pacers? There are a few things about this initial offer (and its recension) that seem more than a bit fishy.

Indiana’s new general manager, Kevin Pritchard, had a well-publicised ugly exit as the general manager of the Blazers in 2010. This hollow offer could be Allen’s way to stick it to Pritchard (and his new team) by attempting to either steal away one of their best players, or to at least force Indiana to pay the highest-possible price for their All-Star free agent.

I have not heard it mentioned anywhere else and I don't know for sure if it is accurate but the new Pacers salary page at Hoopsworld shows Hibbert's 4th year as a player option.

Coincidently that is when he would be eligible for a max contract equal to 30% of the salary cap.

It looks like Falk may want to squeeze the Pacers by the balls again in 3 years and cripple them financially.

We may be basically looking at a 3 year window depending on how this all plays out.
