I remember the year of the Bayless-for-Rush draft-night swap, Bayless had an incredible Summer League, and all I read all summer was how Indy had made a huge mistake in trading away a perennial All-Star in the making. Hasn't quite worked out that way so far.

Off the top of my head, Marco Belinelli and Quincy "The Original Unibrow" Douby are a couple of other Summer League legends. Yeah... We all want our guys to do well, obviously, but don't get too excited. Summer League's proven it can be extremely misleading.

Anyway, between the Howard deal (hopefully) finally about to end, and this being the eve of the day when things can become official, I'm hoping the rumors pick up dramatically today (Tuesday). Things have gotten way too boring lately.

My guy Alec Burks is dominating like he did in the Indy pro am. He is gonna be really good in 2-3 years once he fills out. Loved him out of Colorado but he needs time still to get his body right and improve his jumper though but he has sOme special ability to attack the rack.

Great offensive performance, but he didn't have a single assist, steal or block. And only had 3 boards. He certainly has a nice skill to shoot, but does he offer anything else other than that one skill?
Lance + Starting SG = Awesome

    Now really free Lance!

His shooting isn't that good penetration is his skill currently and should be special. You can't expect him to be in sync with guys when he had never played with 10 of the guys on his team. He was a good passer at COL he just needs a training camp and more time to gel last season was really hard on rookies. He has 20 and 6 poential he is a really good passer dont know if he ever reaches it. But yes he has multiple NBA skills just wait and see.

"Like [Jonathan Bender], AMC's Pacer was supposed to be fitted with a rotary engine--but both rotaries had technical problems late in their development (read: after incurring heavy research costs) that prevented them from seeing the light of day. Of course, both vehicles had plenty of problems that did reach production. The Pacer was a dud in terms of quality, execution and particularly styling. Make your own assessment about its bizarre proportions, but don't miss the one door that's bigger than the other."

Watching Andre Drummond in college usually made me cringe.

I see not much has changed.

He looked a bit tired in this game. Hasn't been terribly involved after the defensive performance he put on yesterday. He hasn't played much in the 2nd half.

Yesterday he was giving Olajuwon flashbacks by how much havoc he caused defensively from the paint out to the 3 point line. Today, he admittedly vanished after the first 5 minutes. He's 18, he'll get over it.

Still looking forward to him starting the season opener.

Is Detroit's center position so horrible that clueless Drummond is actually expected to start? Yikes...

Mark Price looks like he could still play some spot minutes.

E'Twaun Moore having a pretty solid game, been doing pretty solid running the point which is what he'll have to do if he wants to stick in the NBA long term.

JaJaun Johnson...not so much. I'm scared for his future.

Defensively, he's off-the-chart good. Much more skilled than single-minded shot blockers like McGee and Jordan. He doesn't just block shots, he wrecks entire plays.

Offensively, he's off-the-charts bad. Can't make a FT, can't post, no offensive move other than a face-up jumper and a dunk. I can certainly live with that trade-off, because the guy he defends doesn't score either.

    That was mainly my point.

Drummond is a good defender, especially above the rim. Monroe plays mostly below the rim defense (as we've already discussed he can guard on the perimeter and make steals). Monroe can score.

So, in essence they synergize well because Monroe fixes Drummond's weaknesses and Drummond does the same for Monroe.

Besides, Monroe can pass and he could play the occasional high-low with Drummond who could dunk it and thus produce some points as well.

So, it seems like a great pairing.

Don't let the numbers fool you he was better than the numbers. Dude was every where just like he was us euro. His motor doesn't stop love him as a garbage man in the NBA. Was all over the ball maybe a little to physical right now use to euro ball. But after he adjusts he will be really good IMO in that role. Kris Hump lite

E has definitely looked solid, which makes me happy. Think he might get some time next year.

JJ, stat-wise, hasn't done squat really. 23 minutes and 3-6 for FGs? Not gonna cut it. I definitely think his time in Boston is short. He did have the highest +/- on the team somehow though.

I'm glad to listen that he is better than his numbers indicated. Although, his numbers were not bad for his minutes.

I didn't manage to watch the game when he was playing, though.

I see that he is committing some turnovers. Are those offensive fouls and result from him being too physical as you said? Or is he too all over the place at times?

I put almost zero stock in Summer League numbers, but I like the reports I am reading about Lance seeming more in control and playing more like a veteran (which he should). The guy has talent. If we keep his crazy in check and he puts in the work, we might be able to carve a decent player out of him.

How can you dismiss the once-in-a-generation talent that is Javaris Crittenton?
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!
