Default Summer League Observations, Opinions, and Comments

I thought it would be useful for us to have a dedicated thread for those who care to watch the NBA Summer League.

For some reason I like to watch the summer league, but I never put too much stock in it. Lance lit it up a couple years ago and that didn't really translate to the regular season.

Summer league is just fun in a competitive atmosphere. I love it, but yes it guarantees nothing.

Drummond, and knight getting to play together so soon is really fun for me. Also can't wait to see Kyle singler and Kim English in action.

I don't pay attention to summer league, I think you generally learn nothing. Enjoy the games if you want, nothing wrong with that, but I think to make any lasting judgment on certain players is a huge mistake.

I agree you shouldn't put too much stock into the outcomes, player performances, etc. However, it is a way to watch basketball in the offseason. Specifically a team wearing the Pacers logo.

MarShon Brooks is playing well, unless you consider making shots and not turning the ball over as playing well.

Justin Harper, wearing 32 for the Magic, hitting 3's. Shouldn't that Summer League jersey be retired? And wow, Tyshawn Taylor is ballin'.

Nice alley-oop by Nets' Carlton Scott.

Edit: From Steven Dennis. A couple of "Ricky Bobby" names.

Thanks to Maalik Wayns. He's really pulling this PG work through for the Magic. Depending on the rest of this week, I expect to see him get some bench time with the Magic. Maybe even O'Quinn, too.

Yup, possibly, who all do they have at the point still I know Jameer is back. Also yeah I expect O'Quinn to make the team, they just traded away Ryan Anderson, and Dwight should be gone soon, not sure what is up with D.Orton, but not sure who all they have beyond Big Baby, and Gustavo Ayon depth wise.

By the way I wanted the Pacers to trade up to the 2nd and draft O'Quinn so bad, but that did not happen, would not be surprised if he has a better career than Plumlee.

I want to see what PJII & Quincy too. I would say Moultrie, but wasn't he pulled with an ankle sprain?

Wanted 2 of those 3 guys and the Pacers had a chance to get 2 of those 3. While I'm happy with OJ, I just think the Pacers would have been better with Quincy to give a real backup for Granger. A legit 6'10 athletic backup.

Oh well. Only time will tell if the Pacers made the right choices.
With the #3 pick in the 2015 draft, your Indiana Pacers!

Maalik Wayns has 3 points, 7 assists so far in the first half. Just got his first turnover.

Not a travel for Nicholson there. That was a very NBA-typical spin move. He should get used to that for a while, though.

Al Thornton used to be promising...now he's playing behind Adam Morrison in summer league.

Andrew Nicholson blocks the hell out of Al Thornton. "Get that outta here!"

I just realized that the only thing I'm looking forward to in the Boston-OKC game is seeing Perry Jones III getting some run. I can't wait to see how he plays, at least in this scenario.
