Damn....I was thinking that Dre Miller would be "Plan Z".

According to Marc Spears, it's a deal averaging $3 mil per year. Not bad if you ask me.

I'm surprised here...only because I thought that Dre Miller didn't want to be a backup PG.

I hope Denver kisses Miller after that contract is signed. That's a great deal for Denve!

I guess Miller at this stage of life has come to the conclusion he doesn't have to be a starter.

You know what I want? I want the first post in this thread to list all the free agents with ongoing updates when they get an offer. Something like:

    Gerald Wallace 4/$40 Brooklyn
    Steve Nash
    Andre Miller 3/$9 Denver
    George Hill ?/? Indiana RFA
    Roy Hibbert 4/58 Portland RFA

Then another section showing the remaining approximate cap room of the teams.

    Indiana $x million
    Brooklyn $x million

That's what I want. Someone must have the time and energy to do that. Or anyone know of a web page like that?

Well, this is sort of what I was looking for.

According to Indy Cornrows (who got it from Wells).
    http://www.indycornrows.com/2012/7/2...to-5-year-deal

George Hill - 5 yr deal worth about $35-$40M

If it's $40M, that averages to $8M/yr. (corrected)

Ok, I say that we overpaid for his services now, but not by much.

Seems everyone is getting overpaid this FA.

I'd say that is a fair deal.
    40 divided by 5 is not 6.67.

    It's 8 million a year.

    Damn, I divided by 6yrs. D'oh!

    Well, hopefully it's $35M then.

That's probably in line with what I expected Hill to get. Overpaid? Probably a little. But hopefully he'll either:

    A) Grow into a pretty good starting point guard, to the point where he is either earning his contract or is underpaid

    or

    B) The Pacers acquire a true starting PG and Hill becomes an excellent 6th man.

Er. he doesn't say that Hill's deal is $35-$40m. he's just speculating:

After working his way into the starting lineup, that $6 million number likely went up but the terms of the deal have yet to come out. Only the Pacers could offer Hill five years so I'd guess the total number for the deal would be somewhere between $35-40 million.

This. No matter what, George Hill is going to be huge for this team for years to come.

You do realize he's just speculating/guessing on that number for Hill, right?

The lockout and new CBA have really changed the way owners give out contracts now.

    They're even worse.

Can you be executive of the year if your team doesn't make the playoffs?

I wonder if this sets up the Jazz to trade Milsap, who wanted to earn more playing time at SF. The team is young and need time to grow, and Milsap expressed restlessness last season.

Who is going to be the Jazz Starting PG?

I realize that Devin Harris wasn't much of an answer....but he was more of an answer than Tinsley and Earl Watson.

As for Marvin Williams...I assume that Marvin Williams will just take the minutes that Josh Howard and CJ Miles were using ( both of which are expiring ).

I agree that Milsap probably could be had....cuz the Jazz are just logged jammed at the PF and Center spots.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

For $3 mil a year, I'd live with DreMiller as the Starting PG for 24 to 28 mpg and then have GH back him up as the 1st Guard off the bench.

It depends if they can land any big names. If they can't, then no.
