Every positive aspect you negate. No free agent is worth a damn and Irsay won't spend. I wonder how you know this because Irsay has spent plenty. manning was going to be the highest paid player in the game. Free agents are let go often because teams can't afford to keep every good player and they may have a cheaper player who is just as good.We can add several free agents next year after the dead money is gone.
I hope you are right but I have my doubts about that. I can't see Irsay spending for free agents. The few times he did, it didn't work out well. I guess we could do a list of free agents. I think Drew Brees was the best one but he was damaged goods at the time. Look at Washington and what they got out of Haynesworth (someone a lot of Indy fans wanted hear). ......

We have 43 million to spend next year, no real big re-signings to do. And I think Grigson will be more likely to spend in FA than Polian. Hopefully.
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

I think that has been a winning formula and that is why it takes so long to turn around with a complete rebuild. The teams that add big free agents usually do not do well. Look at Philly last year. I will admit that New England sometimes signs someone and gets some mileage for a while like Randy Moss but that is offset by Mr. Chad.......

I don't think you need to buy an entire team. But I think you have the flexibility to sign 2-3 guys that you think can be helpful to the team in positions where we are weak. I definitely agree with the idea of building in-house, but I do think you can do a little bit of FA signing too as needed.

Exactly. No one is suggesting that we recklessly blow all of our money just for the sake of spending it. But there are solid FA's in the NFL every year and we should at least be able to sign a couple of people who can beef the lines up.

We win 6 games. Draft Marcus Lattimore. He becomes the next Edgerin James. the years 1998-2005 are played out again as Luck becomes the new Peyton Manning.

You mean like Denver this coming season?
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

The only other free agent like Manning was Brees and only two teams considered him. But you certainly have a point......

No thanks. This team is going to need to dedicate next offseason to the defense. Try to find a Haloti Ngata in the draft and spend the huge cap space on defensive backs.

Totally agree. Don't want to pull a Philly. As long as egos are in check, there is nothing wrong with plugging some holes with a solid FA.

the problem in philly wasn't the egos. It was the coach. He didn't have them prepared.

4-6 win range. 6-ish if D and/or running game comes along reasonably well. Otherwise 4 (possibly 3).

I think if Andrew Luck is everything we are hoping he is and more, then we could win 6-7 games. I am excited for the young group we have. Having Luck, Fleener and Hilton playing and getting better timing and chemistry each week will be fun to watch. Frustrating at times, but still fun to watch.

Here is a view from another source and I think it is quite accurate:

    http://nfl.si.com/2012/06/19/offseas...?sct=nfl_wr_a1

This writer thinks the Colts will challenge 0-16 again and perhaps for the next two years......

Love this marvelous quote from the article. "Still, they’ve already struggled with season ticket sales in Manning’s absence, and, if Luck is slow to adjust to the NFL, we could be seeing Lucas Oil Stadium quite empty on Sundays." http://nfl.si.com/2012/06/19/offseas...lts/#more-5374

Back during the open house on the 16th at the end of the day they were down to 2000 tickets basically in the upper regions (there were a few single lower bowl tickets). Yep sounds like the Colts are really struggling with tickets. Thank God an expert could point this out.

It is not as rosy as you make it sound. They used to have a waiting list for seasons tickets that took years to open up. They don't have a waiting list any more. Another really bad season like he suggests will further erode that base. I think he is right but it will take three to four years to really see the impact.......

Well, Indianapolis will abandon the team quick. This market bails when things aren't looking up. I believe that this upcoming season will be crucial to how quickly that happens. If the Colts can win 5 or more, I believe fans will feel inspired by the future outlook. If the team face-plants like last year, then you will see how unloyal Indy really is.

Not all, I guess I did not put a number down, but I assume if I voted I said 6-8, my assumption was that we would compete in most games, and I think that turned out to be pretty good, competed in most games, and all turned out to be close, but realistically, there were a lot of winnable games when looking at the schedule initially, and most could have went either way as we saw from the outcome of the games this year....

Interesting thing, if we would not have had those 7 game winning drives we would be 3 -13 now, lol crazy, out of all the close games we only lost one if i remember correctly...
    Why so SERIOUS
