Nah we need that pick just in case we find the "next Foster".......
hahah No, next year will be to find the next Travis Best. Need more guys that can dribble down the shot clock and then make stupid mistakes. Pretty much what we saw last season...only if that can continue forever.

Doesn't Plumlee have a younger brother? We may need that pick...
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

Ugh. That makes me queasy. Roy seems to be serious about Portland and that makes me sad.

I think Mason was better than Miles, last year, when I watched.

the question is why would the Magic want an unknown mid-20s pick instead of Marshon Brooks who was a real steal in mid-20s just a year ago.

It only makes sense if they are looking for a much higher pick.

Who cares. I mean, a 23 year old Plumlee is just oozing with potential. /green

I know I'm hard on Plumlee, but I will give him a chance.

I'm finally ready to say it: time to prepare for the good possibility Roy is not coming back, at least not mentally. If Wells' report is true, it doesn't look like Falk using Portland for leverage. Roy appears to want to help them retain Batum before signing him. Smoke=Fire.

Not sure why? He's in Portland for the physical which they are going to make him get before extending the offer sheet. If he DIDN'T go it would signal he wasn't going to sign the offer sheet at all, which would be silly.

Som folks are reading far more "would only do this if..." into these actions than they deserve.

Yes, Plum Jam does. I believe his name is Mason. IIRC, he's a better player than Plum Jam.

Does the July 11th deadline count for waived players as well, in terms of bidding for them?

This sucks big time because even if we match him we will have about 2 days of signing other guys and then say bye to our cap space for the next 4 years

John Canzano: Blazers offer to Hibbert is "so front loaded with money" that all are taking this seriously, source said. Pacers can still match. about 10 minutes ago

    That's cool.

Nigeria plays an athletic style that will give some teams trouble. Against equally athletic but much more skilled teams like France or Spain though, they probably don't stand much of a chance. But against the lower tier teams like Tunisia, Great Britain, Australia, maybe even China, yeah they're looking pretty good.
Looks like they will be in a group with Argentina, France, Tunesia, US, and Lithuania. They should be able to take Tunesia (I assume), and they beat Lithuania in the qualifier, though I bet Lithuania will be favored. Wonder if Sarunas is on the team still. I thought Argentina is very good, and I assume France has Parker and Batum? The game vs. the US will be a great experience, although a blowout I bet--but at least they will get national TV coverage...

IT takes 3 days and starts the 11th.

I hear before that it could be like 19mil in the first two years or something like that, that's a lot of money.

Haven't run the numbers, but it's got to help, right? Paul George is going to be the big contract, and that is not an issue for two years.

By the time offer sheets must be matched (14th), teams will have had two weeks to talk to free agents. If we can't get anything done within that time-frame, I'm not sure how much a couple of extra days would help.

Who knew a 12 and 9 guy could be worth up to $19M/yr...especially in this economy. If that turns out to be true.

Any interest in DeJuan Blair? He's been basically pushed out of the lineup by Diaw, and now Lorbek coming over. He signed a 4 year contract, and this will be his 4th year. The 4th year is unguaranteed at a little over 1 mil. Maybe we could trade Stephenson for him, or Price in a S&T.

If true, you gotta give credit to Portland for doing their damndest to get good players, even if it means paying Roy Hibbert an insane amount the first two years.

Even with all that money thrown at him, at the end of the day, they could have a Hibbert-Aldridge-Batum frontcourt. Not too shabby.
