Let's be that mystery team! Get Brooks and Hibbert and all will be forgiven.

Marshon Brooks should be on a cheap rookie contract too, alot to like about getting him. He can get his own shot, in a big way, he's a really nice answer to scorer off the bench. I'd really like to get in on that.

I still have no idea why we haven't reannounced Barbosa yet

Doubtful it happens but Brooks and Humphries would fill out the roster nicely if we match Roy. Renounce Lou and Leandro's rights, trade a first, and ca$h in. We could even s&t either of them although neither team would probably want them, especially Barbosa at his price.

Wouldn't mind having Brooks but I really doubt we get involved.

I wondered if we were looking for S&T options. It could net us a piece in return and opens up the possibility for teams over the cap as suitors for Barbosa. I figure we'll renounce before the 11th if a S&T isn't found. I would be SHOCKED if we resigned him.

I coulld live with this IF Humphries contract isn't COMPLETELY over the top beyond the first year. I also like that we would get 2 nice pieces that both fill needs and we still keep DC and Tyler. Seems really good, though I HATE to assist a Dwight to Brooklyn deal to be honest

Why? If it means something good for the Pacers, go for it...... Somebody will.....

I see Rush made the news, I haven't seen Lou make the news yet, I wonder why?

Ken Berger: Brandon Rush could be an option for Portland or Minnesota, whichever team loses out on Nicolas Batum, source said. Twitter

When I saw Rush made the news, I was expecting another failed drug test.

Hopefully, Lou never makes the news for that.

Looks like Ronnie Brewer might be waived by the Bulls i remember the game he torched us this year

he would be a good pickup to play backup SF i think

I wanted Brewer in the 06 draft but Utah drafted him. He could help the Pacers, and plays "D".

I'd assume that Humphries would likely get $8-9 mil per year on average.......but would likely get a heavily front-loaded contract to make the #s work for the trade.

I don't see why the Cavs wouldn't do it......get a 1st round pick, get a front-loaded contract and make it harder for LeDecision to win another championship.
If that's really what the contract is we could offer that and possbily kill the deal in the process. I don't want the Pacers to be the police force for the league but it's not a bad basketball move either. Humphries at 8-9 may be slightly overpaying but not by much. He isn't my first choice but he fill a need and improves the team. He's propably the 2cd. best free agent left available in top 4 for this years ufa class. If it's 10 mil to that's a little different. Humphries owes nothing to the Nets or Orlando and might have a chip on his shoulder for being used to bring in Howard. If the money were the same he might prefer our offer.
We need to do something with our cap space before signing Hill and hopefully Hibbert. We either go for Kaman (1st. choice), Humpries, or a combination of bench players that really don't help this team very much.

I've read that several owners and GM's are upset over the outcome of this years moves as it helps to add to the super teams and reduce competitive balance. If it's not the Pacers, I hope some other owner like Cuban throws a monkey wrench in this.

Tom Withers: The Humphries-to-Cavs thing is very speculative at this point, told not much substance

Cross off two more backup bigs off your lists:

Sacramento re-signs Jason Thompson to a multiyear deal starting at $6m.

    http://www.sacbee.com/2012/07/08/461...h-hompson.html

Memphis re-signs Darrell Arthur to 2 year deal worth $9-10m total.

I'm really surprised Arthur got paid that much with being injured most of the last 2 years.

He's playing in the summer league, the Nets play in the first game. I think that is what he is referring to.

If he is in summer league and doesn't play today, that might be an indicator of something going down, I would guess.

He's a defensive specialist....but I didn't think that he had much of an offensive game. I guess I don't mind having a defensive minded player....but I'd prefer one that had some offense to his game.

He shoots 50% FG with 9 PPG, and plays "D". He can guard multi positions. That's not bad for a b/u. Heck, if only Hansbrough could do that.

I wouldn't mind getting Humphries and Brooks. Just not sure the Pacers can realistically get Humphries and match Hibbs.

If the Pacers could pull that off, I'd be happy to trade Hans & DJ for Cory Brewer and have him be the backup SF.
Lance + Starting SG = Awesome

    Now really free Lance!

I like the contract the Kings signed Jason Thompson to. He could have easily been overpaid considering that he's a 6'11" big man who can shoot and rebound.

If Humph has to have a multi-year deal then we could give up David West for him and Brooks.

Cory Brewer is a Nugget. Why would Denver want Dahntay back? Why do they need Hans when they have a load of Bigs?

he tweeted, "Here we go" an hour before tip off. He didn't tweet the part about "things about to go down", that was 2minutes comment.
