Let me say he is NOT my first choice, but the '13 class sucks & I want a player who can help us win NOW. IMO KH is a BIG upograde from TH, & gtives us a starter post-West.

If we picked up Brooks AND Green ( pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease ), then that would be a FA period of awesomeness. I don't see it happening though, unfortunately. Not only Brooks, but also Green. Sounds like Brooklyn is eager to either keep them around, or use them as trade bait.

PS: Is anyone else expecting the basketball gods to punish Dwight Howard and/or the whole Nets team for all these shenanigans in the coming year? I can't believe that, through all of this, Dwight may STILL end up in Brooklyn. Just a bunch of shenanigans. I can't help but look forward to whatever the Nets end up doing, though. I just want things to happen soon, or not at all.
    Sorry, couldn't help it....

Looks like Ronnie Brewer might be waived by the Bulls i remember the game he torched us this year

he would be a good pickup to play backup SF i think
If "torching the Pacers" is a good qualification for the Pacers going after a Player, we'd be looking into the majority of the backup Players that became available on the Free Agent Market.

Sure, but Brewer's actually a pretty solid 2 way player. He's played pretty much exclusively the 2 but he's listed at 6'7/225, but he was in Chicago with Deng/Korver and Utah with AK47/Korver. He's plenty big to play some backup 3 minutes. Should be fairly cost effective, I'd be all for it.

They need the" sign" for the $'s. D.howard makes a lot. Nets do not have a lot, unless they sign Lopez & Humphries to make the saleries worl. ORL does not want Humphries, thus the 3rd team.
I'd assume that Humphries would likely get $8-9 mil per year on average.......but would likely get a heavily front-loaded contract to make the #s work for the trade.

I don't see why the Cavs wouldn't do it......get a 1st round pick, get a front-loaded contract and make it harder for LeDecision to win another championship.

RT @wojyahoonba: Nets are finding traction beyond third-team involvement of Cleveland to find a landing spot for Kris Humphries, league sources tell Y!

    Let's see if we're interested.

No joke i bet the past 4 years journey men have got their career high on us like 20+ times. No thanks no need we have Djones Ronnie is basically just a younger version.

But on Kris Humphries the Cavs are only gonna take him on for a single season at 8m to 9m and dont want him to play. I mean we could offer to do that or even add a year on a 2 year 18m dollar deal is pretty good value for him. Plus im sure he would be interested because we need a guy just like him for 30mpg and he could have the chance to win.

our PnR defense would improve so much with Kris.

I really wanted to get him last year he has always been a guy I like watching play.

He's a defensive specialist....but I didn't think that he had much of an offensive game. I guess I don't mind having a defensive minded player....but I'd prefer one that had some offense to his game.

Oh I'd definitely call him much more of a defender than offender, but he's not completely inept offensively. He's decent spotting up from midrange to 3. Of course, BRush is stellar at that and we saw how that worked, so yeah.

S&T's are for a minimum of 3 years. Plus I agree with Heisenberg, Hump will have to be overpaid to cooperate in the S&T. He's a UFA who can sign with any team after all. What's in it for him if he's only getting another single season $8-9m contract? He can get that from other teams as well.

I dunno, I find the whole convoluted Dwight-to-the-Nets scenario to be improbable. Just count the number of parties that need to be overpaid. You need to overpay Brook Lopez to participate. You need to overpay Kris Humphries to participate. You need to overpay Cleveland (or another third team) to participate. Once the bill adds up, that value is coming out of either the Nets or the Magic, or both. Can't the Magic find a better offer? Won't the Nets run out of assets? Anyway, we'll see - but I'll be surprised if they pull it off.

I didn't realize how bad Horford's game was for international ball he hasn't impressed me at all in this qualifier Nigeria's big man really has roughed him up and he plays soft. Nigeria up 3 with 4:27 left Digou and Aminu has been clutch.

Ike Digou just nailed a 3 now up 6 Ike has 20

EDIT: back to back 3s for Ike.
yep, he wasn't impressive last year either.
if you want to dominate offensively in that setting, you either have to be overwhelming physically, or really be able to shoot.
There's too much physicality and too little space in the FIBA ball compared to the NBA.
Which is also why Blake should be purely rebounder/hustle guy there. His game isn't a good fit either, at least not yet.

I completely agree with the general point.

But I think the Cavs genuinely like Humphries.
They need a 3rd big man who can play both 4 and 5.
He wouldn't be going there to be a long term starter. He'd be going to play ~30 minutes off the bench.
I can easily see a 4 year, 8 mil per deal, probably front-loaded (not just because of the Howard trade, but front-loading is beneficial for the Cavs too).

Kris Humphries is a solid player. If you're cool with paying him 10+ million for multiple years then we just disagree on how good he is and the direction the franchise should take.
10m+ multiple years seems unlikely. It doesn't make sense for the Cavs or the Nets.

If the Nets have to take both Richardson AND Turkoglu, then I'd see a one year max deal (16.5 mil) (on paper it would be 3 years, but only 1 guaranteed).

Or, if it's just Richardson, then the Nets are fine with a 3-4 years deal at ~ 8mil per year, depending on Lopez salary. Which would be fair for the Cavs and Humphries too, IMO.

multiples years at 10m+ doesn't really help anyone, except Humphries.

"Sources also told FOX Sports Ohio that a possible sticking point may be the Cavs’ unwillingness to take Humphries if he signs a contract that exceeds one year, as well as their insistence on receiving a first-round draft pick."

Why wouldn't you do this? You get a first round pick AND its only a one year deal?

this says more than one year.

This means that either the Cavs don't really like him after all and don't want him on a long deal.

OR the Nets/Magic are pushing for a much bigger Humphries salary figure here (in the teens, maybe max) in order to include Turkoglu in the deal. If that's the case, obviously, the Cavs wouldn't want more than one year for just a late 1st pick.

We should get in, offer 2 years / 20 mil or so, and block the Dwight to the Nets deal!

I'd trade next years Pacers 1st rounder for Marshon Brooks, easily.
