Another that didn't care that "we are so close to compete" ...

@AlexKennedyNBA: Brandon Roy's decision came down to two teams: MIN and GS. He will sign a two-year, $10 million deal with Timberwolves: http://t.co/8laBHe2t
I'm guessing this one came down to $$$. Just a hunch.

Surely we will sign one of Mayo or Lee now?

Waiting for Hornets to match EJ so he can sign with Phx too.
I read somewhere (I forget where; I'll Google) that Mayo was a fallback option for Minnesota if Portland matches their offer to Batum. Of course, this was before the news that they were acquiring Brandon Roy ([bitterness]whose comeback I hope fails[/bitterness]), so that may have changed.

Now that Roy's off the market, Mayo talk may heat up. Hopefully.

    Edit: Here it is...

The Wolves, like every team, have Plans B and C. It involves possibly trading for Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala, although the source said that contract is troublesome.

They also have reached out to representatives for free-agent shooting guards O.J. Mayo and Louis Williams. Neither is scheduled to visit for now, but that could change based on Batum.
It also mentions Minnesota's interest in Brandon Roy, including a meeting the team had with him in Seattle. My guess is that Minny signing Roy has eliminated them as a suitor for Mayo. So, this is good news, at least for those of us who preferred Mayo over Roy.

Mayo would be a good addition to the Pacers IMO. He brings some aspects the team is missing - namely shot creation. This would be pending money of course.

I think Pacers fans are freaking out more over Hibbert, not Brandon Roy.
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

People are going to flip their ****???

If he wants to be a pg and/or costs a lot over the MLE, no thanks.

If he can be a pg if needed and costs just a little over the MLE, I am intrigued.

You wouldn't be happy if they signed every single free agent for a minimum contract. You would still be *****ing about us not having LeBron.

No one is going to flip because we missed out on Mayo, people are going to freak out because "the FO sucks and missed another FA and Indy is a stupid dumb loser town no one wants to play in," or something along those lines.

I think that whole point guard thing was a way to make himself more appealing to teams. "Oh, look, I have halfway decent handles and can probably play some point guard if needed!"

What list? Only a couple of targets left with Kaman, Mayo, Mahimi, and Lee. With this list sure... but typically, as with condiments, Mayo should never be your first option.

That's kind of what I thought/hoped. If Hill and DC aren't up to par, imagine Mayo running the point...yuck.

I'd rather see AJ or Lance at the 1 than Mayo.

Yeah, I would too. Was it a Summer League one year when they decided to play Mayo at the point full time and he was an absolute train wreck, even in that setting?

...and at least one of us is overrating him.

Great...ehh...don't know about that. Pretty good? Maybe, but great players don't get benched on that Memphis team.

I don't remember that, but I can't imagine it ending any other way.

I love Mayo the Bball player... I'm worried about Mayo the Poker Player. Didn't he get in a fight with a teammate on a plane about a poker loss?

I'm assuming whichever team overpays him the most, as has been the case with almost every free agent so far.

I really don't understand where Mayo fits on our roster. I have to assume we have a big move (or two) lined up.

I'm fine with Mayo, for the right price, of course.

But if we let Hibbert walk, I won't really give a rat's *** one way or the other.
