Personally I am fine with Orlando Johnson getting some playing time but if the Pacers got Roy on a partially guaranteed contract I would be happy with that.

With the way players are getting paid so far, it sounds good to me. Sign me up.

The Knicks are going to be paying like 70 million in luxury tax by 2015

so basically, something like 5-5-10-10. Reasonable enough, but the Knicks will insta-match.
I wish someone had the balls to put the last two years at max. 5-5.2-13.7-14.3. The Knicks would still almost certainly match, but that one would hurt...

Everybody is down on the Pacers right now, but at least we don't have a horrendous payroll playing for the 7th spot in the playoffs.

I'd rather pay Hill 8 mil than Lin 7.5 mil. Rockets probably still have a big Asian fan base. That might be part of the reason they're willing to gamble on Lin.

The Lakers are on pace to pay 80 mil+ in 2014 (tax alone). Unless they make major moves, like trading Pau.

I'm not down at all. It just depends on how the fans set their expectations. Sure, I would have loved to have Nash, Deron, Gordon, etc, but those weren't realistic expectations. Will we sign a FA, yes. Will it be a sexy FA pickup, probably not.

I really don't care about any of these big names switching teams, New York and New Jersey are not even close to beating Miami.

We can't worry about what other teams are doing. Don't be shook by these big names switching teams. They don't have team chemistry. We just need to worry about how to beat Miami

    Damn

@ZachLowe_SI: Jeff Green's teams have played much worse w/ him on floor every year he's been in the league. Rumored 4/$40 deal? No way I'd do it. None.

    Sam Amick
On the Celtics front, agent David Falk continues to say he thinks a deal gets done with Boston for free agent forward Jeff Green. One source with knowledge of the talks says it may be in the four years, $40 million neighborhood, but it is not done.
"Im confident itll get done," Falk told SI.com. "I guess they got (Brandon) Bass' (contract) done, which is great. Jeff is trying to get a sense of what the team looks like first before he makes a commitment, but I expect hell be there and I expect itll be done by the 11th (when the free agency moratorium ends). Weve gotten a lot of interest from other teams. But as far as Boston, were very confident well get it done.
"He wants to be in Boston. Hes excited about the moves theyve made. Hes hoping Ray Allen comes back as well, because he feels very close to Ray Allen." Allen is visiting Miami today and appears to be down to Boston and the Heat for his considerations.

From the clip-and-save department comes this from Dirk Nowitzki.

After a few weeks to absorb the first playoff sweep of his career, Dirk was asked how he would view the Dallas Mavericks' free-agent pursuit of Deron Williams, considering the price of doing so was not re-signing Tyson Chandler from the 2011 title team, if it came up empty.

The question was posed to him during a May appearance on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM's "Galloway & Co.," and, as usual, Dirk answered it openly and honestly.

"Its kind of tough," said Nowitzki, who has consistently spoken of wanting to finish his career in Dallas. "Im like the grandfather of Dallas sports right now."

He was asked if he could ever see a time when he would request a trade if the pieces didn't come together as planned. Nowitzki, with two years left on his deal, and Kobe Bryant are the only players in the NBA with no-trade clauses in their contracts.

"Im not sure," Nowitzki, 34, said. "Ive always said I want to finish my career here and obviously the championship season topped it all off; thats what I always was chasing and dreaming about so that kind of sealed that deal on that front. If we really come out with nobody this summer then maybe they want to rebuild and, obviously, Im too old for that. Well just have to wait and see what happens on that front. But I still think I got two, three good years left in me and if we get some players in here we can be right back up there and compete."

We'll see about that when those teams come slashing in towards our basket and we don't have someone on the interior who can block or alter a shot to save his life... literally. Kaman is decent offensively, defensively we are going to be screwed unless he would come off the bench with Hibbert the starter that would be ok.
You're preaching to the choir here....id rather have Hibbert over Kaman...but I can totally see the FO thinking like this to justify not matching a fan favorite.

I'm cool with that.....that's the price pay when you buy a Super Team....its in the fine print when they decided to do that.
