I'm saying that I think that the FO would much rather save $3-4 mil in Cap room and go with a downgrade at the Center spot than use it towards ( what they perceive ) a Center that they think isn't that much better.

I can totally see them thinking that Hibbert maybe younger but doesn't have enough upside to think that he'd be any significantly better than Kaman.
We'll see about that when those teams come slashing in towards our basket and we don't have someone on the interior who can block or alter a shot to save his life... literally. Kaman is decent offensively, defensively we are going to be screwed unless he would come off the bench with Hibbert the starter that would be ok.

Jason Kidd Agrees To Sign With Knicks For $9M Over Three Seasons
    Jul 05, 2012 4:40 PM EDT

Jason Kidd has agreed to sign with the Knicks on a three-year, $9 million deal, according to sources.

Kidd will presumably backup Jeremy Lin if he is ultimately retained as expected.

The Mavericks were confident they were moving toward a deal with Kidd.

Really we need something to happen
Wow. We must have low balled him at $2MIL per year. With each announcement, I'm losing more and more faith in our front office.

Can you do a comparison of Eric Gordon, OJ Mayo, and a potential trade target like Tyreke Evans?
Careers: Tyreke Evans vs. Eric Gordon vs. Gerald Green vs. Courtney Lee vs. O.J. Mayo vs. Nick Young

In my opinion, Evans has the most complete game, and probably the highest upside (although I could see a case made for Gordon), but is a low-efficiency scorer, in large part due to being a terrible shooter. He's also been said to have a questionable attitude, although I suspect a lot of players would being stuck in Sacramento.

I don't think the Pacers were ever mentioned as being interested in Kidd. Kidd is washed up and this 3 million a year deal is the best that anyone was going to offer.

At 3 million, I would have taken him for his playoff experience alone.

    Trade DC for Royce White.

If the Hawks go through with a buyout, Jordan Farmar will be availlable, too.

Out of everyone still left, I think OJ Mayo, Brandon Roy, Courtney Lee, and JR Smith are the best shooters left. Out of all of them OJ Mayo has the most upside and potential to be a great player so that's where I'd lean.

    J.R. Smith
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Grizz twitter says the Warriors have signed OJ Mayo. That's straight out of left field. Bye to Brandon Rush if true.

EDIT: This is most likely a B.S. rumor. It's not an official Memphis Grizz account.

At this point we need another guy who can get his own shot. I would say no to Mayo if it cost 7 million and it will most likely be that or even more. Lee is tough for me to gage but it would be around 3 or more million and JR smith is banned since Lance is on the up and up.

Personally I am fine with Orlando Johnson getting some playing time but if the Pacers got Roy on a partially guaranteed contract I would be happy with that.

How the Pacers front office is faring so far this offseason (if Roy is gone)

"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. At this point I think we should try to see how long and how much cap space we can have, maybe make it like a personal goal or something? ...

Maybe we can tell our grandkids about the time the Pacers had close to 30mil in cap space, who cares about championships when you can have cap space? .....

Not too sure how creditable this is but,

@MySportsLegion: Report: Pacers have emerged as the favorite for free agent guard OJ Mayo.

Not sure how credible, but I can see it. Juice's ego was bruised in Memphis, and he knows we have wanted him for 2 years. Thanks for posting.

Hell they better resign Fesenko at this point, he'd come back for only a couple million.

    That's what I've been thinking.

Mayo and getting Roy back sounds like a win right now. If we can ship Tyler out and get another piece it would be even better.

i'm sure they did, otherwise it's just a waste of paper.
with a big 3rd and esp 4th year, at least they'd hurt the Knicks a little.
