I'd love to get Camby. He'd be a fantastic backup. Been a fan of his since he got draft.
'Cause the Camby-man can'!
But for now, anyway, the Celtics are not in the hunt for free agent O.J. Mayo, who has informed teams he’s not interested in a mid-level deal, according to the source.
hilarious because OJ Mayo is the epitome of a mid-level player.
Don't have the article in front of me, but I saw last night Camby has his six teams he is choosing from, and the Pacers are not one of them. So he's not coming here most likely.
Camby will always follow the money. He already turned Miami down because of it.
then we offer NO more than Phoenix
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!).
I'm (maybe) back after being repetedly banned, merely for supporting a different NFL team than do certain forum moderators.

Free agent guard Gerald Green and center Ian Mahinmi are expected to meet with the Pacers at some point in the coming days.
Both would be welcome additions.
Is there any reason the Pacers keep looking at sg? We already have PG, Lance and now OJ. How about looking at some SF to backup Granger, or a new backup PF. I guess they aren't ready to give up on Hans, but the Pacers should be ready in case he sucks out of the gate again.
Shot creator moreso, Green did this when I saw him play. Interesting follow up tweet the Bird was high on Green coming out of highschool, but didn't want to add youth, is Larry still pulling the string here?!??!?!
Also, with so many teams going small and playing a bigger SF at the 4, getting another big 4 may not be the wisest roster move.
I, like you, believe we need a new backup 4, but I'd rate the 2-guard position as more of a priority to the FO.
yea i use to hate Gerald Green cause all he did was "dunk" but last year he played very well.
Maybe the continued interest in 2 guards shows TPTB don't have TOTAL faith in Paul George stepping up his game?
Or, they are just covering all their bases in the case a favorable trade turns up?
Possibly. Two other options as well:
1) He's "overvalued" on the market currently, and they want to lock in that current value by trading him.
2) They see him as the future 3 once he puts on more muscle.
@WojYahooNBA: So Phoenix trades Goran Dragic AND a 1st pick for Aaron Brooks in 2011, and now wants to pay Dragic between $8M-$9M per year to return? Wow.
Gerald Green and Paul George
Lob City 2.0
I think the Pacers indeed see Paul George as a small forward in the future . IF Eric Gordon were to end up a Pacer without Paul having to be included in the trade to get him , PG would become the 6th man playing both SF and SG. Then when Granger's contract runs out and Paul's rookie contract runs out Paul would become the starting SF.
