I'm not sure how accurate you are because I know I never wanted him on the Pacers.
As a fan, you may be correct. Management would have traded Hibbert and at least one of two other good players and perhaps a draft choice for him in a second. Philly, of course, would not take that deal.... ...

What's hilarious is that I feel like Bynum has more than met expectations, and the same guys that were begging the FO to trade for him are now the ones running him down because we didn't get him.

    Don't ever change, PD.

I don't think anybody was calling to trade for Bynum, hell I'm supposed to be a "Bynum fan" because I'm arguing with some people that think the guy is garbage and don't want him here.

I never said he's garbage. He's just not someone you can ever count on. He was in a perfect spot for himself, where the team was good enough to be a high seed without him and then you just hope he's healthy for the playoffs. However to make him your best player and count on him to help you be a high seed? That's dangerous.

If he truly was a 'superstar' he would be in Orlando. They would have sent Dwight for him and that's the end of it. Yet another team was brought in because Orlando knows you can't count on him like that.

I don't think you can judge anything "because Orlando didn't want him", remember it's Orlando

That's not the basis for my reasoning. The basis is common sense. No matter what Orlando did. Just an observation.

i think Orlando didn't take him only because they had no balls to risk another resigning drama, even if that seems unlikely with Bynum.

I understand, the thing is that Orlando didn't take him because they are run by a bunch of clowns, yes they didn't want a "Diva" or whatever but they also refused to get Brook Lopez and a better package for Howard, so I guess that my point is that in this case the "Orlando didn't want him and because of that nobody should want him" doesn't aply here.

Not wanting a guy who, so early in his career, already has chronic knee problems and a horrific work ethic is perfectly reasonable.

That and Orlando has already had to deal with a prima donna big. They probably didn't want to trade for one too.

I assure you that Orlando didn't want Hibbert either....

That is a good point but it seems that his knee problems can be worked with. I am not aware of his "horrific" work ethic. It would seem to me that his teammates in LA would have been talking about that if it was the case...... You won't find many with Hibbert's work ethic.

I think what he might be alluding to is that Bynum, with all of his natural physical gifts should be much more dominant than he's been... and most have presumed that this is because he's not working hard enough. There have even been leaks out from LA that have suggested as such. But that's a far cry from horrific.

That same framing could apply to Paul George, if that's the case. He's got a lot of physical gifts and has been portrayed as not "hungry" enough by his teammates in the past. This will be the year that PG is portrayed as either lazy or a star.

I know this has been said before but Bynum is only 24 and big men just take longer from what I have seen. Wilt, Russell, Kareem and others were about that age when they played their first games. I don't know if PG will be a star but I don't believe he is lazy at all.....

Not sure i understand the logic he will be keeping the bench SUPER warm like most nights he wont even play will be behind Lee,Terry & Bradley

Instant offense if needed, I guess? I suppose if no one is scoring, you could throw him in there.

I'm surprised he didn't sign with the Lakers though.

when is Bradley coming back? Barbosa can be their 2nd guard off the bench till then.
Also, the Celtics are always magnets for injuries, i won't be surprised if he plays a decent bench role later in the year.

You know how the NBA instituted rule changes to prevent Shaquille O'Neal from dominating? Well, they did it again! The league just significantly curbed Jeff Pendergraph's ability to contribute to the team this season: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/85...0-second-clock

Boozer to be amnestied in the future. I'm guessing next season?
    http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap...Amnesty_Boozer

I'd be interested. Boozer has a game like West, being able to hit the jumper and he's a better rebounder. Now, I do think West has better leadership skills. But if he's amnestied, he might be had for much less than West.

I've heard rumors about Boozer losing his athleticism. Since I've always seen his game the way I saw Troy Murphy's game, that his stats are better than his actual effectiveness, I hope the Pacers are not interested.

I would love to have him backing up Monroe next year. Hope joe puts a bid in on him.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.
